As you build more and more models in MLCAD, or LDRAW you become faster and
faster at building them. I used to spend days, building my models in MLCAD, now
I can do it in a couple of hours.

So you think I don't do that? I build all my models the same way as you, except
that after I have built them IRL I make them in MLCAD. So you see, I put twice
as much effort as you do in a model.

No, it enhances the model, it makes the model more accurate to your vision. I
mean what would you rather look at, a patchwork coloured mecha, or a nicely
colour scemed one?

Sure, if you like bad lighting, and ahem, BLURRY pictures.
Anyway, unless you are a Mac owner (although isn't there a LEGO Cad program for
it too?) anyone with a PC and a modem can download all the programs free of
charge and make good use of them. You see, with programs like POV-Ray, the
playing field is leveled out, everyones models are presented the same way,
while with cameras, a person with a digital camera has the advantage over a
inexperienced camera owner.

I'd rather spend that time building something else IRL. (...) (24 years ago, 5-Jun-00, to lugnet.build.mecha)
