Re: My top 10 —Jeff Stembel
(...) Jeez, he posts an opinion, and gets attacked for it. I find that really sad. He wasn't trying to "narrow the talent" or any such thing, he was posting what his favorite mecha creations were. Never once did he say he didn't like any mecha that (...) (22 years ago, 10-Jan-02, to lugnet.build.mecha)

Re: My top 10 —Ryan Wilhelm
(...) I completely agree. I like all the stuff on his list, and slamming him for liking those models over other stuff out there, is like getting on someone for liking Hershey bars, but not Caramello (Hey, they're both candy , right?) I have my (...) (22 years ago, 10-Jan-02, to lugnet.build.mecha)

Re: My top 10 —Eric Sophie
Hey Jeff, I gotta say I do understand what you are saying, but I think the fact remains that Bryce has been around alot longer and he just probably thought the list did'nt make sense to him. That's all, no biggie. Truth is I felt a little left out (...) (22 years ago, 10-Jan-02, to lugnet.build.mecha)

Re: My top 10 —Mark Sandlin
(...) I think, from looking at Jacob's list, that he prefers Gundam-style mecha. Your stuff is sort of big and biomechanical-looking, but definitely not Gundam. :^) Don't sweat it. I haven't built a new mecha in about 5 months, and I've fallen (...) (22 years ago, 10-Jan-02, to lugnet.build.mecha)

Re: My top 10 —Sun Yun
(...) I wasn't gonna reply to this thread but oh well. I agree with Mark and Jeff. He is probably new and didn't mean any harm or to cause a situation. I bet we've probably scared him off from ever posting again which is unfortunate. I don't think (...) (22 years ago, 10-Jan-02, to lugnet.build.mecha)

Re: My top 10 —Tim Courtney
(...) Neither was I. Heck, I don't build mecha and I don't go ga-ga over em either (except in the areas of good engineering with the brick) Oh well. :-) (...) Yep, I agree as well. (...) His list was totally appropriate. Note he prefaced it with (...) (22 years ago, 10-Jan-02, to lugnet.build.mecha) !

Re: My top 10 —Peter McLoone
I completely agree, he phrased everything as it was coming from his point of view, and he was merely trying to start discussion about what other people thought was the best out there. Sadly some people took it as an insult and it escalated from (...) (22 years ago, 13-Jan-02, to lugnet.build.mecha)

Best mecha out there —Dave Johann
(...) Hey there, Pete! I love the idea of a discussion about the best mecha creations, It's a listing that should bring out some obscure designs that haven't been seen for a while, but are still cool nonetheless. I'm not certain that your idea about (...) (22 years ago, 14-Jan-02, to lugnet.build.mecha)

Re: My top 10 —Mark Sandlin
(...) I agree with Jeff here. I think Jacob was just posting his OWN PERSONAL favorites. He's allowed to have favorites, and he just wanted to share his favorites with us. No need to flame the poor kid. If someone is disappointed they didn't show up (...) (22 years ago, 10-Jan-02, to lugnet.build.mecha)

Re: My top 10 —Jacob Sullens
I was never Trying to offend or upset anyone with my choices, I knew full well that this topic would do just that to some people so at first I was going to have a top 20. I then realized that would cause an even bigger upset so I bumped it down to (...) (22 years ago, 10-Jan-02, to lugnet.build.mecha)

Re: My top 10 —Tim Courtney
(...) Hi Jacob - Don't feel bad that you made that post. Its not your problem if people got offended by your opinion. I hope you keep posting your opinions and praise of others' work on LUGNET and don't get discouraged because of this incident. I (...) (22 years ago, 11-Jan-02, to lugnet.build.mecha)

Re: My top 10 —Dave Johann
(...) We aren't upset at you for this, Jacob. We respect that you have such a list....I have one as well. I choose to post mine on my website rather than leave it out in the open (as you have done) for everyone to scrutinize. (...) I can't disagree (...)          Re: My top 10 —Tim Courtney
(...) I honestly do not see what is wrong with posting a list of personal favorites to a group and thus sharing that list of favorites with others and inviting them to discuss their favorites as well. (...) No, not yours, Dave. I'd rather not name (...) (22 years ago, 11-Jan-02, to lugnet.build.mecha, lugnet.off-topic.debate)

Re: My top 10 —Bryce McGlone
Hey I finally got back to this post: First off Jacob: my apologies. I sent a private email, but @home is dead. Here's the email for everyone to further pick apart: Hey Jacob, Hey I’m sorry about my rude post on Lugnet. I never word things correctly. (...) (22 years ago, 12-Jan-02, to lugnet.build.mecha)

Re: My top 10 —Tim Courtney
Hi Bryce - (...) I wasn't totally comfortable myself barging in here and commenting, but seeing the reception Jason got for his post made me want to throw my own two cents in. Also, I've been in debate mode for about a week now, if you haven't seen (...) (22 years ago, 13-Jan-02, to lugnet.build.mecha)

Re: My top 10 —Borislav Marinov
Dear Tim, I do not know who the hell you are. More presicesely, I do not know who the hell you think you are, and I don't really care at all! What I do care, is who the hell do you think you are to just barge in here and to accuse that there are (...) (22 years ago, 13-Jan-02, to lugnet.build.mecha)

Re: My top 10 —Tim Courtney
Hi Borislav - First off, I'm quoting your message with one of the latter paragraphs first: (...) I would suggest if you want to make your point and have it be well accepted by the person you are targeting it at, you try not to insult them or attack (...)           Re: My top 10 —Jason Sutherland
Since listing one's personal favorites seems to elicit great anger, I thought I would make my own top ten list of my favorite Lego colors. 1. Green (because I like it) 2. Red (because I like it less than green) 3. Blue (because I like water) 4. (...) (22 years ago, 13-Jan-02, to lugnet.off-topic.debate) !

         General Nastiness —Mark Sandlin
(...) Tim has been around a lot longer and has contributed far more to the LUGNet community than you have. Perhaps if you were to read something other than build.mecha... As for the rest of your post, this is exactly the kind of nasty, venomous, (...) (22 years ago, 13-Jan-02, to lugnet.build.mecha)

         Re: General Nastiness —Borislav Marinov
(...) All of your points are well made, and I do appologies, but I really dislike gossiping. I will try to be nicer about it in the future. (...) I never refered to the actuall Top 10 list, I wanted to concentrate on Bryce's comments towards (...) (22 years ago, 13-Jan-02, to lugnet.build.mecha)

         Re: General Nastiness —Dave Johann
(...) 1) That isn't why he was 'attacked'. I'm tired of going over that subject, so I won't do it again. 2) What is this "Mecha Clique" you speak of? I wasn't aware that such a group existed. Last time I checked, everyone builds for their own (...) (22 years ago, 14-Jan-02, to lugnet.build.mecha)

Re: My top 10 —Kirby Warden
Bryce- You may participate more in a forum than others, but there is no special recognition or status for doing so. Further, no one is required to post MOCs just to earn the priviledge of participating in a discussion. Because this might be (...) (22 years ago, 13-Jan-02, to lugnet.build.mecha)

Re: My top 10 —Bryce McGlone
Kirby, Relax. Of course you are right. I made an ass out of myself and got what I deserved. Friends? (At least until the next time I step in mecha poo poo...) Later, Bryce (22 years ago, 13-Jan-02, to lugnet.off-topic.debate)

Re: My top 10 —Dave Johann
(...) Where did Bryce once mention that posting MOCs is a requirement for participation? I've read his message numerous times now and I don't see where he mentions this at all. By this logic, I should be able to post in .train and have similar (...) (22 years ago, 13-Jan-02, to lugnet.off-topic.debate, lugnet.build.mecha)

Re: My top 10 —Kirby Warden

Re: My top 10 —Dave Johann

I merely point out that my credibility isn't the same and therefore wouldn't hold as (...) (22 years ago, 13-Jan-02, to lugnet.off-topic.debate, lugnet.build.mecha)

Re: My top 10 —Kirby Warden
Bryce- Please don't take offense to my chopping up your post like this. I think it important to discuss some issues and I think your post is the best solid example of some of those issues. (...)
