Wow! I hope I haven’t used up all my superlatives on your excellent previous
Mech Bays, because this one is now my favorite! I love the red/dk
gray/gray/trans blue color scheme, fully articulated upper and lower maintanence
arms, rack-and-pinion mounted gantry, cranes, all the nifty details, the minifig
variety, and on and on and on.
The technic framework pieces give it a perfect industrial look. For a summer
job one year, I drove trucks for a roofing company. On a few occassions, I
picked up sheets of metal roofing material from a large metalworker. They had a
huge factory/warehouse with a massive overhead crane mounted on rails up on the
ceiling. It could pick up a load and move it to anywhere in the facility. This
moonbase reminds me of that--very functional!
It gives me the eerie impression that you have taken one of Soren’s bot forges
and blown it way out of proportion, without losing the tight colors, or the
interesting details. Awesome!
