Moonbase Module - Mech Bay 07 - 1x3 Base Plate - Little Dark Grey Bot Repair Facility - The light transport Hover Fish and SV3 wheeled vehicle supply the Little Bot Bay with new parts and electronics.

Moonbase Module - Mech Bay 07

Hey gang, I’m back and back strong with my latest Moonbase Module. Mech Bay 07. This Moonbase was the product of lots of basic Red Brick. I worked on the construction for about 2 hours a day. Sometimes more, sometimes less.

6 weeks to build.

The Facility consists of a Main Repair Bay in the center of the base and two vehicle supply docks at either side:

The Hover Fish Dock, for small equipment and supplies.

...and the Support Vehicle 3; SV3 wheeled vehicle, for Bot arms, legs and other components.

The Hover Fish, light runabout, ferries parts and small electronics packages to and from the base. I really like the compact design and it took some carefull building to come up with a design that gelled.

The SV3, wheeled vehicle has 4 wheel steering and a cab crew of two. A support duty crew of 4 rides in the back to help stow Bot parts when called to action.

A pair of upper manipulator arms repair and tend to the top portion of the Little Bot.

While a pair of lower manipulator arms repair and tend to the lower portion the Little Bot.

A pair of service cranes sit high above the two vehicle docks to unload and swing parts up to the main over head crane’s service pass through platform.

A crew compliment of 50+ Mini-figs keep the facility brimming with activity. Although, I did not have a chance yet to fully detail the upper floors and rear section of the main gantry building, this is something I plan to do casually over the next few weeks.

The Module has 3 corridor connections. One East, one West and one North.

I enjoyed the building process. I worked hard and looked forward to the day when I could share it with all of you here on LUGNET.

PLMKWYT! It’s fun like that!

(...) <good stuff snipped> Eric: MOST Excellent. Emphasis on MOST. I particularly like the dark grey rendition of your 'little bot', and against all the red and dark grey back ground, it looks particularly good. My favs: The robotic repair arms that (...) (...) -big snip- Wow! I hope I haven't used up all my superlatives on your excellent previous Mech Bays, because this one is now my favorite! I love the red/dk gray/gray/trans blue color scheme, fully articulated upper and lower maintanence arms, (...) (20 years ago, 29-Nov-04, to lugnet.build.mecha, lugnet.space, FTX)

I like it. It somehow has an early 20th century industrial look to it (red brick and iron girders), rather than being futuristic. Really it's hard to describe the architectural style. Retro Lunar Industrial? You're using some weird technic bits in (...) (20 years ago, 29-Nov-04, to lugnet.build.mecha, lugnet.space, FTX)

<Snip> Cool! Is this base something that can be connected to your other moonbase mecha modules? One big, pic with the three of your mecha bays would be so cool... Definitely like the vehicles you created...nice diorama feel to it all... But what's (...) (20 years ago, 29-Nov-04, to lugnet.build.mecha, lugnet.space, FTX)

Ahem, WOW This would be officially Skadoo-afific. The crane, two axis movement on geared tracks using gears for movement, nice! Big industrial looking thing, like a oil platform almost all business with god knows what embedded inside. It's the (...) (20 years ago, 29-Nov-04, to lugnet.build.mecha, lugnet.space, FTX)

(...) Massive! I've greatly enjoyed your Mech Bays. This one ices the cake. This is exactly the sort of thing that we sit through the movie just to watch it get blown up in the end. I mean that in the most positive way. Oh, and way to use those (...) (20 years ago, 30-Nov-04, to lugnet.build.mecha, lugnet.space, FTX)

Wow! Very impressive work, Eric! Dig those support vehicles too. My only gripe is you didn't Brasso off the UFO decals on those quarter saucer panels. Other than that, every detail in the facility looks just right. Word up. --Dan (20 years ago, 30-Nov-04, to lugnet.build.mecha, lugnet.space, FTX)

(...) #7 is the best yet (...) That's crazy talk! (...) What is that in dog years? Cause your version of time and everyone elses is not the same. You are the Mag Bas of Mecha. (...)
