I thought it was an odd requirement at first as well, but... in the contests
I've judged and voted, there has always been at least one entry in which the
host was down when I was trying to evaluate the models. How many people
will jot down which entries they didn't get to see and then get back to them
later? If they are all in the same place, they'll all go down together.
And Brickshelf is free and well-known. And as of earlier this week, it
works for those of us behind firewalls with big proxy banks (ie me).
As for my additional suggestion, that's also based on judging experience.
If somebody dumps 4 models in a single directory and doesn't make it
explicitly clear which model is which, it is very hard to track which entry
is which. And the people who don't bother creating separate directories
also tend not to name the files very clearly.
Whatever... if I were organizing it, I may not have made this requirement-
but I don't think it is unreasonable.

| First of all, they're called Future Bikes, or Turbo Cycles. :P (...) I don't see the need for this at all. Let em post it wherever they want. (...) I don't see the need for this, either. If you entered the contest you'd get one vote. That's fair. (...) (23 years ago, 11-Jan-02, to lugnet.space, lugnet.build.contests)
