  Spiral Staircase study (inspired by Pet Shop 10218)
 
This staircase is inspired by the spiral staircase in the new set Pet Shop 10128 In the new set it is a spiral staircase based on a 1 x 4 plate. (see e.g. this pic on (URL) experimented with different size plates and came up with this staircase (...) (13 years ago, 7-May-11, to lugnet.build.arch)

(2 URLs) much of 2009 was spent working on my newest house moc, a replica of an actual house in suffolk, england. the award-winning design of the sliding house features a motorized shell that moves over two buildings to create a variety of forms, (...) Bravo, Chris! This is instantly recognizable if you know Wright's architecture -- and even if you don't know the Robie House in particular, you still might recognize Wright's style. I've been programming from when Fortran was the language of choice and everything was done on punchcards. I still use QBasic to write (...) Salisbury Cathedral,located in southern England, will this year celebrate its 750th anniversary. The cathedral was completed in 1258 but the spire was not added until 1320. (...) Duane, a 3x3 (double concave) 33 degree "valley" slope has not yet been produced by LEGO. Neither has a 1x2 (triple) 33 degree half pyramid roof peak, nor the parts needed for an "L" or "T" roof ridge. So that makes it difficult to produce a (...) My next Lego landmark: St. Peter's Basilica. Or should I say a cathedral based on St. Peter's Basilica? Clearly the colors are wrong but that was a matter of economics coupled with the amazing pieces I found at the Disney pick-a-brick. Also, by (...) (...) yes, this curve has been used for a while. i first played with it in (URL) 2001> and i've seen some afol's doing great things with it. i've also used it to teach some interesting math concepts to my students. but the most fun is making (...) I've seen this way of curve construction before, even tried it myself (it comes as a logical conclusion to having an abundance of 1*2 bricks around for no particular use) but I couldn't imagine something so architecturally (...)
