For almost three years, I’ve been working on a sculpture of Yankee Stadium together with a Manhattan grade-schooler. It’s only a few months away from being complete.

I don’t normally post photos of my LEGO creations before they’re finished, but yesterday the real Yankee Stadium closed down after 85 years of making baseball history, and I thought it would be nice to post some photos in honor of the day.

I posted about a dozen photos of the sculpture so far, plus some photos of progress over the past few years.

(...) Awesome as usual. Now if you could get a real table out of the locker room or somewhere from the stadium itself to display it on--that would be really kewl, also. Tommy Armstrong (16 years ago, 22-Sep-08, to lugnet.build.arch, FTX)

(...) Great work! Could you describe how your collaboration with the grade-schooler got started and how it works? Judy M. (16 years ago, 23-Sep-08, to lugnet.build.arch, FTX)
