The Ark of the Covenant (was: LEGO licenses Indiana Jones)

(...) Strangely enough, I started planning the project below not long before the announcement for the official sets came and soon got frustrated over not having the right hat :/ However, the new one seems just perfect!   Time lapse movie of bridge assembly

Here is a time-lapse movie of the assembly of my cable-stayed bridge. The movie consists of seven hours of work condensed into a little more than two minutes. It was filmed at COSI Toledo, a children's hands-on science museum in Toledo, Ohio (USA), (...) (18 years ago, 3-Jul-07, to lugnet.announce, lugnet.build, FTX)

  Felucia Separatist Droid Forces

Once a major holding of the Commerce Guild, Felucia was a world teeming with fungal life-forms and immense primitive plants.   Re: Any Good Ideas For Custom Brick Separators?

(...) Its seems to me that one of these would do the trick: (URL) Technic pieces have got a slightly smaller hole diameter, and so it should always grab on well. Hope this helps, --Peter (18 years ago, 17-Jun-07, to lugnet.build, FTX)

Any Good Ideas For Custom Brick Separators?

We all know how handy the LEGO brick separators are. I was wondering if people have modified these tools, or developed their own custom tools for removing bricks? I have heard of (but not seen) AFOLs modifying the end of separators to work on single (...) (18 years ago, 17-Jun-07, to lugnet.build)

Re: Florence Cathedral: Santa Maria del Fiore

Hi, Arthur. Excellent model! That downside-out building method really does allow you to capture the feel of this cathedral at this scale in a way that "normal" building would not. I'm also happy to see you've added the new outdoor photos to your (...) (18 years ago, 8-Jun-07, to lugnet.build)

  Office Building

Originally intended to be an Imperial training facility as I've managed to get the trans dark panels for windows from PaB. It didn't quite pan out as I wanted it and would start over. So I've just added some doors where ramps should have been to (...) (18 years ago, 8-Jun-07, to lugnet.town, lugnet.build, lugnet.announce.moc, FTX)

  Custom MLCAD Parts tree

Have you customized how your MLCAD parts are organized? I couldn't find anyone else's custom MLCad.grp file, so I spent a bit of time on it tonight. Please feel free to adjust this and repost it.   Re: Florence Cathedral: Santa Maria del Fiore

Hi Arthur, (...) Ah yes, you did! Cutting one out of thousand or more elements is acceptable. (...) I wouldn't change the dome itself built with the red bricks. Just try to fix the white flex-axles a bit different so that they point more to the top (...) (18 years ago, 5-Jun-07, to lugnet.build, FTX)

Re: Florence Cathedral: Santa Maria del Fiore

(...) I agree. My photography skills are lacking. Once a year, in the spring, I bring in a professional photographer (Jerry Mann) to take photos. One look at my brickshelf folder and its easy to spot who took what pictures (...) Yes. I've noticed (...) (18 years ago, 5-Jun-07, to lugnet.build, FTX)

Re: Florence Cathedral: Santa Maria del Fiore

(URL) Hi Arthur, thanks for sharing this amazing model of the Cathedral. When I first saw the thumbnails at brickshelf I thought it would be minifig-scale. But you realised to put so much details and iconic structures even in a smaller (...) (18 years ago, 5-Jun-07, to lugnet.build, FTX)

  Sliding Puzzle 4 x 4 Module

I really enjoyed this post about mosaic kits and a LEGO sliding puzzle design: (URL) I started working on a slightly larger sliding puzzle design which completely covers a standard square green baseplate.   Re: (was ) What TLG set (AFoL MOC) "revolutionized" your building?

(...) A fine question! For me, two MOC's really knocked my socks off during my early days in the online AFOL world. Back in 96 and 97 I didn't realize how widespread the community was nor the scope of the projects that could be undertaken. The first (...) (18 years ago, 30-May-07, to lugnet.build, FTX)

Hey, Great question. As with many castle guys, I would have to say it was set (URL) 3739, the Dan Siskind Blacksmith Shop>.   Re: What TLG set "revolutionized" your building?

Lots of great sets mentioned here. Like many here, I remember pouring over an idea book with equal parts wonder and frustration at my limited LEGO supply. As a PAB addict, I agree with many of you for whom something other than a "set" (PAB, (...) (18 years ago, 30-May-07, to lugnet.build)

Re: What TLG set "revolutionized" your building?

(...) Okay: Baah! (...) And for that I will curse the day that that set designer's mother was born:-) (...) Yes, but they also pre-dated TLG's cursed foray into juniorization as well. I mean, look at those feet! If that isn't Galidor foreshadowing, (...) (18 years ago, 30-May-07, to lugnet.build, lugnet.off-topic.fun, FTX)
