New MOCs -- A whole city, inspired by Greenwich Village —Sean Kenney
Hi, everybody! I'd like to announce my latest addition to my LEGO Manhattan... I've built a whole new city modeled after Greenwich Village. There are about 15 different buildings in the city, each of which has its own page, and over 75 pictures in (...)      (...) <snip> Someone clued me in to this (the gallery on BS) before your announcment and I've been spending a good part of the afternoon drooling. Wow. There are just so many nifty details, I am hard pressed to pick a fave, but i am very partial to (...) (22 years ago, 18-Mar-03, to lugnet.town)

Re: New MOCs -- A whole city, inspired by Greenwich Village —Sean Kenney
(...) LOL :) Drooling? Well, I'm glad you like them. It's certainly a vast departure from my "big, plain, chunky buildings" of the past. (Quoting my teenage sister when she first saw my 5-foot Empire State Building in 1999.) That one statement of (...) (22 years ago, 19-Mar-03, to lugnet.town)

Sean, This is amazing! There is so much detail that it will take a long time to digest all of it. Great work. Bruce (22 years ago, 18-Mar-03, to lugnet.town)

Re: New MOCs -- A whole city, inspired by Greenwich Village —Bruce Hietbrink
Just to follow myself up, I've finally gotten the time to look through everything and I'm even more impressed. Some things that jumped out at me include these pictures: (URL) just really like fig's-eye-view pictures. The busy-ness of these pictures (...) (22 years ago, 20-Mar-03, to lugnet.town)

(...) Hi, Sean! (...) Those are some nice creations. The brickfaced townhome - great work, those colors really compliment each other well. Now if Lego would only release some plate packs in those colors. Joined Buildings - Nice history/story for (...) (22 years ago, 18-Mar-03, to lugnet.town)

Re: New MOCs -- A whole city, inspired by Greenwich Village —Sean Kenney
(...) Thanks! A lot of the buildings I built for this city have little "histories", because all real-life buildings do too. Old buildings that have been around longer than any man or woman alive go through changes; they are affected by differnent (...) (22 years ago, 19-Mar-03, to lugnet.town)

Re: New MOCs -- A whole city, inspired by Greenwich Village —Jonathan Lopes
(...) Hi Sean, I was looking at these durning lunch. Very nice. You've captured the 'feel' quite nicely....I will be walking out into that 'feel' in a few moments. I really liked the cornices and all the signage as well. You've gotten a lot of (...) (22 years ago, 18-Mar-03, to lugnet.town)

Re: New MOCs -- A whole city, inspired by Greenwich Village —Tobbe Arnesson
(...) VERY nice! Makes me want to build a part of my town once again, alas I still lack the parts, money and time. Two things that can make the experience in visiting your Village better is; 1) As you yourself pointed out, better photos. More light (...) (22 years ago, 19-Mar-03, to lugnet.town)

Re: New MOCs -- A whole city, inspired by Greenwich Village —Sean Kenney
(...) Yes... Most of the photos were taken in December, and I don't get a lot of light in my apartment during the winter. :( I even have a halogen mounted over the city and carried some bulb lights up to the side of the city for the pictures, but it (...)         Re: New MOCs -- A whole city, inspired by Greenwich Village —Andrew Saada
(...) <snip> Sean, Greenwich Village is wonderful! All of the packed-in detail and intricate designs definitely give it the right 'feel'. As Bruce said, it will take a long time to digest everything. The different textures and styles add greatly to (...) (22 years ago, 19-Mar-03, to lugnet.town)

Re: New MOCs -- A whole city, inspired by Greenwich Village —Jonathan Lopes
(...) I know I already replied....but I was taking yet another look..... This animation is so cool. (URL) don't know if it was done on purpose or a 'happy accident' but, the shadows and lighting differences add so much to the animation....like time (...)         Re: New MOCs -- A whole city, inspired by Greenwich Village —Sean Kenney
(...) Time *was* passing! :) Chalk it up to "happy accident"... those pictures were taken across 6 months, from July to December 2002. I'd planned ahead, knowing that I wanted to make this time-lapse animation from the very beginning. I took a (...) (22 years ago, 19-Mar-03, to lugnet.town)
