A company cannot control what you do with a product after you've bought it. Once you own the product, it's yours to do with as you please. (...) That is good logic. There's a flip side to that logic, however: LEGO markets a kit that has really bad equipment and will allow the purchaser to make really sub-bush-league films. Actually, I would say it's much, much different. I think a better analogy would be that if you bought Play-doh and made an animated film, certainly Fischer-Price (or whoever makes PLay-Doh) would not have the right to suppress your film. Unless you 1) use the LEGO logo; 2) present the film as official production of TLC; 3) use LEGO products in the endorsement of something else, TLC has no right to say what can and can't be done with their products. Consider your average movie or television show... some of the comments made in this thread have suggested that you can't use a company's product in a movie without express permission. (...) Just make sure you refer to them as "legos" in the film. Since we've seen letters indicating that "legos" are _not_ the correct term for "LEGO brand building bricks", obviously no one would think they _were_ "LEGO brand building bricks". -gyug In (...)
