  Re: Great ideas

(...) Yeah, I couldn't stand that... When I got my first Blacktron I sets back in '86 or '87 I had to turn all the heads around backwards so they didn't have the same silly "I'm so happy even if you pull my arms off" look. Actually, I kinda got used (...) (26 years ago, 7-Oct-99, to lugnet.adventurers)

  Great ideas

(...) Hey those are great ideas! I now have to find a bunch of ninja hoods and pirate scarf hats. I hadn't even thought of the Qui-Gon and Obi-Wan bodies. Think of all the people out there shuddering at the thought of using Star Wars toys for other (...) (26 years ago, 7-Oct-99, to lugnet.adventurers)

Re: I hate professor pith helmet

(...) Lego has been poor at giving us the masses of common people needed to offset the special ones. I have 20 Witch figures. 15 Cap'n Redbeards. You can only mix and match so much. I've taken to buying heads, torsos, and other bits outside my usual (...) (26 years ago, 7-Oct-99, to lugnet.adventurers)

Re: Favorite Adventurers vehicles (Re: 4x2ReVu: 5909)

(...) 'Interesting' may have been a bad word-choice. I *do* like the Amazon sets. Well, the blimp is kinda goofy. Comparing Amazon to Egyptian, the Amazon sets have a higher level of juniorization, the buildings are less inspired, and the (...) (26 years ago, 7-Oct-99, to lugnet.adventurers)

Re: I hate professor pith helmet

(...) YES! I CAN'T STAND HAVING SO MANY JOHNNY THUNDERS! I *wouldn't* mind if his torso was a little more standard, since it could be used in a lot of places, but he's got a pistol right there! And I don't want Castle peasants or Town shoppers or (...) (26 years ago, 7-Oct-99, to lugnet.adventurers)

Re: Favorite Adventurers vehicles (Re: 4x2ReVu: 5909)

(...) Steve I was wondering what you specifically found uninteresting about the Amazon sets. I found them much more vibrant and alive than any other lego sets ever. I love their attempt to do a jungle. I can see your point on the architecture, (...) (26 years ago, 7-Oct-99, to lugnet.adventurers)

Re: I hate professor pith helmet

(...) set (...) I have to agree with you on the old Prof. They at least changed Pippin's outfit from one theme to the next. I know it is partly due to the context of following one set of adventurers from site to site, but my god I must have 30 (...) (26 years ago, 7-Oct-99, to lugnet.adventurers)

  I hate professor pith helmet

Sorry to rant but I just have to express my disdain for the professor pith helmet figure. He seems to come in almost every medium-to-large adventurer set and he's the most difficult to make blend into a minifig crowd (not just the dumb face but the (...)   2995 at S@H (Re: Set 2995)

(...) Sorry to answer my own post, but I just called shop at home and this set CAN be purchased separately (price was $6.75). ..joseph g (26 years ago, 7-Oct-99, to lugnet.adventurers)

Re: 3055 set Kellogg's UK Promo

I started by sending an e-mail too with no success. Here is some addresses and phone numbers - maybe you will have more luck. But I think there is no other way than to get somebody in UK to eat a lot of cereals fast. Kellogg's Consumer Services P.O. (...)   Theme/subtheme lifespans (Re: Favorite Adventurers vehicles)

(...) Good point, Steve. I hadn't thought of the lifespans corresponding to the sub-themes rather than the more encompassing theme. Thanks for the clarification. ..joseph g (26 years ago, 7-Oct-99, to lugnet.adventurers, lugnet.general)

  Set 2995 (Re: 4x2ReVu: 5909)

(...) hey, i never even knew about the 2995 (it does look quite nice). (URL) for the scan, lugnet.) can it be purchased separately from shop at home (or does it have to come bundled up with the other sets)? ..joseph g (26 years ago, 7-Oct-99, to lugnet.adventurers)

Re: Favorite Adventurers vehicles (Re: 4x2ReVu: 5909)

(...) I thought the 2-year cycle was for specific products. So the *Egyptian* sets are on the end of their lifespan. But there's no implication that the Adventurers theme won't continue. Aquazone was the first of the new themes (I do believe), and (...) (26 years ago, 7-Oct-99, to lugnet.adventurers)

  Re: 4x2ReVu: 5909 Treasure Raiders

(...) Using same rating system: 1) 5948/5909/2978 is by far the best. I rebuilt mine to be a two seater though 2) 5956 the idea is very clever 3) 5928 looks very good apart from the wing guns 4) 5925 looks desent 5) 5988 Balloon 2 through 5 is in a (...) I couldn't find a mailing address or phone number at their website (URL) did send an e-mail, but I haven't had much luck in company contact replies.   Re: 3055 set

(...) The 3055 was part of a promotion campaign in UK from Kellogg's Cornflakes in 1998. The campaign included the three sets 3054, 3055 and 3056. The 3055 should still be available from Kellogg's Cornflakes in UK until December 1999. Getting this (...) (26 years ago, 7-Oct-99, to lugnet.adventurers)

  3055 set

Does anybody out there know of anyone selling, trading, or even mentioning set 3055? It is a small Adventurers themed car with Johnny Thunder and was given out as a promo for Kelloggs cereals in the U.K. If anyone can help me in this matter it would (...)   Re: Favorite Adventurers vehicles (Re: 4x2ReVu: 5909)
