  Re: Make the statistics searchable

(...) Actually, newsgroup searching is allowed, but has been partially broken lately for unknown reasons, see this thread: (URL) a usage perspective, it looks like various keywords have not been recorded, or have been removed from the indexing at (...)   Make the statistics searchable

Apparently the statistics section of Lugnet is not searchable: (URL) was trying to find information about when a set was added to the database. No search term I could think of would yield any result. Even for a set I know appears in the listings (...) (21 years ago, 12-May-05, to lugnet.admin.suggestions)

Re: Does Lugnet have a parts "Wish List" page?

(...) expire! (...) expired? (...) they (...) Ah, ok. Thanks for that Larry. (...) I'll use this reply to officially submit my request for such a page on Lugnet. Dave S. (21 years ago, 6-May-05, to lugnet.admin.suggestions)

Re: Link to multiple post authentication page

(...) No problem, that's FTX so any admin could do it, and one did. (...) Makes sense to me. Todd has to do it though, I think, as that page isn't stock FTX, near as I can tell. (21 years ago, 3-May-05, to lugnet.admin.suggestions)

Re: Link to multiple post authentication page

(...) I see that the link has been added to the admin sidebar, but could we also add a link to this page: (URL) seems the most logical place (and the first place I looked) as there are already a set of links (Posting Setup, News-by-Mail, Skip-Filter (...)   Re: Link to multiple post authentication page

(...) added to .faq thanks for making this! (21 years ago, 3-May-05, to lugnet.admin.suggestions)

Re: Does Lugnet have a parts "Wish List" page?

(...) Could you clarify that? I was not aware that any posts on LUGNET ever expire! That's not the design intent. Can you provide a link to a post that's expired? Sometimes the picture links go bad though, but that's a function of where they are (...) (21 years ago, 3-May-05, to lugnet.general, lugnet.admin.suggestions)

Re: Link to multiple post authentication page

(...) Just another Perl Hacker? I am behind on getting the suggestions into the list, sorry... soon, soon. (actually ANY admin that has curator can do it but I've been doing them all...) I agree that putting a link to this from various places is a (...) (21 years ago, 29-Apr-05, to lugnet.admin.suggestions)

Link to multiple post authentication page

I would suggest that a link be added from the /admin sidebar (and perhaps from other pages, such as /admin/news, FAQ pages, help pages, etc) to the page that allows users to look up and authenticate any posts that are pending their action: (URL) (...)   Re: Vote to unhighlight?

(...) How about by author request also (since not necessarily everyone would be able to unhighlight their posts). Frank (21 years ago, 27-Apr-05, to lugnet.admin.suggestions)

  Re: Vote to unhighlight?

(...) I would have no problem with the author having that ability, but the only time I would consider allowing Admin to do it would be with "murfled" posts (as described in the leaked p&p doc). And I would probably say in that particular case, it (...) (21 years ago, 27-Apr-05, to lugnet.admin.suggestions)

  Lugnet Color Table

Today while helping someone via the LDraw help desk I refered to them to the color chart located at (URL) so that they could get the ldraw color id for silver chrome, which is 383. However, I soon discovered that there is a "?" for the silver chromo (...) (21 years ago, 27-Apr-05, to lugnet.admin.suggestions, FTX)

  Re: Vote to unhighlight?

(...) I would probably suggest 2 bits tagged on the post: 1) Author has prevented highlighting/spotlighting 2) Admin has prevented highlighting/spotlighting The effect of the bits would actually be pretty hidden. Instead of preventing people from (...) (21 years ago, 27-Apr-05, to lugnet.admin.suggestions)

  New Train Club Newsgroup Request

Would it be possible to create the following newsgroup and have it listed on the Trains Organizations page ((URL) lugnet.trains.org.spltc Thanks, Ray SPLTC www.spltc.org (21 years ago, 27-Apr-05, to lugnet.admin.suggestions)

  Re: Vote to unhighlight?

(...) This is something I would support, though it might be hard to do from the NNTP or SMTP interfaces (unless there is some flag that could be put in the post or a header). It might be nice to be able to do after the fact also, but verification (...) (21 years ago, 27-Apr-05, to lugnet.admin.suggestions)

  Re: Vote to unhighlight?

(...) Yes, I picked this up too. (...) Yes, Larry I had offered the ability to prevent or remove any highlight to my own posts. This would give me a bit of control, and send message to others about my highlighting desires, but still prevents abuse (...) (21 years ago, 27-Apr-05, to lugnet.admin.suggestions)

  Re: Vote to unhighlight?

(...) Hi Dave, I was asking for the ability to prevent or remove any highlighting only from my own posts. I guess I felt it would be only the author's perogative (i.e. I wouldn't have the ability to lowlight anyone else's post.). (...) Kevin (21 years ago, 27-Apr-05, to lugnet.admin.suggestions)

  Re: Vote to unhighlight?

(...) Thanks for the elaboration, Steve. LUGNET DID have such a system, and it was not uniformly positively received. This has been alluded to in other replies as well. A suggestion to again allow both negative and positive weighting should not be (...) (21 years ago, 27-Apr-05, to lugnet.admin.suggestions)

  Re: Vote to unhighlight?

In lugnet.admin.suggestions, Steve Bliss wrote: <snip> (...) Well then that,s different, isn't it? The ability to choose whether my post should be able to be highlighted or not--that's a pretty neat little thing... Would that 'non highlighting' flag (...)   Re: Vote to unhighlight?

(...) LUGNET history note: we already went through this. When highlighting was first available, it was possible to give a negative rating to messages. This feature was abused/misused almost immediately -- or at least, people perceived that it was (...) (21 years ago, 27-Apr-05, to lugnet.admin.suggestions)
