Actually, newsgroup searching is allowed, but has been partially broken lately
for unknown reasons, see this thread:
http://news.lugnet.com/admin/general/?n=12543
From a usage perspective, it looks like various keywords have not been recorded,
or have been removed from the indexing at various points. It looks as though
only records for roughly the last 2 years are affected, because statistics posts
and various other "ignored" keywords appear as results *before* 2 years ago.
Note this only seems to happen with *certain* keywords, since other search words
appear normally.
AFAIK, the only group that isn't searchable is lugnet.off-topic.test*. However,
various other stopwords are intentionally ignored (as well as phrases or most
non-alphanumeric ascii characters)

| Apparently the statistics section of Lugnet is not searchable: (URL) was trying to find information about when a set was added to the database. No search term I could think of would yield any result. Even for a set I know appears in the listings (...) (20 years ago, 12-May-05, to lugnet.admin.suggestions)
