Take a look at this post:

in a newsreader or in raw form, hmm, you'll have to look at it in a
newsreader, here's what I see when I look at the raw form:

No content at all, in fact, that last header looks truncated. Something's
wrong with the raw form.

In any case, FTX which was supposed to leave posts mostly readable in NNTP
or raw form apparently doesn't require newlines before list element tags, so
as a result, it's possible to post a huge list as one massive block of text
without any newlines, totally unreadable. Without FTX formatting, the poster
would presumably insert the newlines for readability (though some posters
just stream of conscience dump without breaking up into paragraphs).

As someone who got resoundingly chastised for this post:
http://news.lugnet.com/general/?n=6017 which is tremendously more readable
than the above post, I find it personally frustrating that FTX encourages
unreadable posts.

Hmm, when I read the raw form of that post, it's truncated also.

(...) Um, looks ok when I look at it? (...) I do agree that FTX needs to degrade much more nicely into plain text than it does. If we change FTX though, we'll need to think of what to do with older FTX posts. (19 years ago, 27-May-05, to lugnet.admin.suggestions)

(...) snip (...) I see the full post, as I do with the link below - maybe the truncation problem is at your end? (...) FTX DOES require newlines before list elements. The problem here is that Dave chose not to use list elements. ROSCO (19 years ago, 27-May-05, to lugnet.admin.suggestions)
