  Re: Growth

(...) Sorry, I was not clear. I meant the changes within the last twelve months. Scott A (25 years ago, 2-Nov-00, to lugnet.admin.general)

  Re: Growth

(...) wow, so a properly formed (URL) won't work? That's pretty bad. (25 years ago, 2-Nov-00, to lugnet.admin.general)

  Re: Growth

(...) No, it's highlighting the right part. Hm, if I right click and select "Copy this link location to clipboard" it gets the right thing. Hmm, if I right click and select "Open this link" it puts the right URL into a browser window, but still gets (...) (25 years ago, 2-Nov-00, to lugnet.admin.general)

  Re: Growth

(...) Although I've come across many client applications that don't get it right; xmms is the first one that comes to mind, as it assumes anything after a colon in the URL is a port number, no matter where it shows up. Chris (25 years ago, 2-Nov-00, to lugnet.admin.general)

  Re: Growth

(...) Are you saying that since there are more members you expect more posting traffic? Personally, I hope not. While I expect that everyone should feel comfortable posting their views, opinions and any information they have, I am not particularly (...) (25 years ago, 2-Nov-00, to lugnet.admin.general)

  Re: Growth

(...) No -- the port goes immediately after the domain or machine name, not at the end of the URL. --Todd (25 years ago, 2-Nov-00, to lugnet.admin.general)

  Re: Growth

(...) it's trying to open the url (URL) port 8265, probably. isn't that part of the standard? (25 years ago, 2-Nov-00, to lugnet.admin.general)

  Re: Growth

(...) You mean that NS 3.0 on AIX/X11 thinks that the trailing > is part of the URL? Wow, I thought only MSOE had that problem. Well, that's good to know. --Todd (25 years ago, 2-Nov-00, to lugnet.admin.general)

  Re: Growth

(...) Ah, figured it out, if I cut and paste it it works. The whole URL is highlighted in the news article, so I think NS 3.0 has a bug in clicking on the link from the news article. Clicking on the "view raw" link from the HTML version works also (...) (25 years ago, 2-Nov-00, to lugnet.admin.general)

  Re: Growth

(...) Yes, the first form is supposed to work -- and I think the problem you're seeing with it is the first ever reported. I'm not surprised, though, because it's technically kind of "dangerous" (or "iffy") to use colons in URLs, because they're (...) (25 years ago, 2-Nov-00, to lugnet.admin.general)

  Re: Growth

(...) This URL didn't work for me, I get an "unrecognized request" response. If I use: (URL) works just fine. Is the first form supposed to work? (25 years ago, 2-Nov-00, to lugnet.admin.general)

  Re: Growth

(...) Where do you see a downward trend? Excepting September 1999, when I compare the traffic for a given month in 1999 with the traffic for the same month in 2000, I consistently see the 2000 traffic as higher. In fact, in general, I see the same (...) (25 years ago, 2-Nov-00, to lugnet.admin.general)

  Re: Growth

(...) I am a little surprised. Posting traffic over the last 12 months is actually slightly down - in terms of trend. This is almost all due to the Xmas rush last year I expect. Statistics are great things, if I extend the downward trend, I can (...) (25 years ago, 2-Nov-00, to lugnet.admin.general)

  Re: Growth

(...) Wow, times have changed -- lots more people online talking now. (...) Lemme know if I can help you with getting you raw data -- like a tarball of lugnet.admin.statistics broken apart by subject or whatever... --Todd (25 years ago, 2-Nov-00, to lugnet.admin.general)

  Re: Growth

This is very interesting when compared with (URL) I never did get around to working on that more. I should update it with more recent data.... (25 years ago, 2-Nov-00, to lugnet.admin.general)

Re: How do we ask for a new newsgroup to be set up?

(...) That's all very easy when you are using a web browser but what about those using NNTP? Many people in the UK will be using NNTP because you can download and read offline because of pay by the minute access. (...) Well it's not just a UK (...)   Link to Fairplay Rules

Todd, Would it not be appropriate to have a link to LEGO's Fairplay rules (URL) on the (URL) page? Jude (25 years ago, 1-Nov-00, to lugnet.admin.general)

  Re: Fishlips Minifig?

[Crossposted to lugnet.admin.general. Please followup appropriately] (...) I see you already got your answer, but I thought I'd mention you can find minifig/set crossreferences at Brickset (URL), the Fibblesnork LEGO Guide (URL), and Locker 99's (...)
