Re: Why is Lukas in headlines? (was Re: Bulleid Leader)

(...) The problem mostly is that Lugnet was based on an NNTP model, wherein you can't modify the content or group of a post. So, essentially, when a post is made, lots of stuff happens behind the covers. Lots of indexing and things which would need (...) (18 years ago, 16-Oct-06, to lugnet.admin.general, FTX)

Re: Why is Lukas in headlines? (was Re: Bulleid Leader)

(...) Hmm, I see. I wasn't aware that it would involve going into the code. Some of the other forums (CSF, classic-castle) will regularly throw posts into different areas so I assumed the same should be true at Lugnet. I'm not overly (...) (18 years ago, 16-Oct-06, to lugnet.admin.general, FTX)

Re: Why is Lukas in headlines? (was Re: Bulleid Leader)

(...) Yes, that's true. The spotlight list is auto-generated, and posts are able to be manually removed from the list based on any criteria at the moment. It's definitely on the list to allow admins to remove specific posts. Other ideas suggested (...) (18 years ago, 16-Oct-06, to lugnet.admin.general, FTX)

Re: Why is Lukas in headlines? (was Re: Bulleid Leader)

(...) I seem to recall some discussions that the admins don't have this power but I think it's underconsideration. Tim (18 years ago, 16-Oct-06, to lugnet.admin.general, FTX)

Re: Why is Lukas in headlines? (was Re: Bulleid Leader)

(...) His annoying habits aside, does no one have the ability to go in and manually remove things from the headlines list? (18 years ago, 16-Oct-06, to lugnet.admin.general, FTX)

Why is Lukas in headlines? (was Re: Bulleid Leader)

At the time I'm writing this, 3 of Lukas's responses are currently in the headlines section. Seems odd that this keeps happenning. (18 years ago, 16-Oct-06, to lugnet.admin.general, FTX)

(...) Jason, you have to fill out the (URL) posting setup> and wait for it to be approved, then you should be set to go. HTH ROSCO (18 years ago, 16-Oct-06, to lugnet.trains, lugnet.admin.general, FTX)

  Re: Bulleid Leader

(...) Actually, I've updated my email address in my profile (jdotjdotrailtonatbt...netdotcom) but it hasn't transfered that to when my name comes up on postings. If you have some magic admin want to fix it, please go ahead. Jason R (18 years ago, 16-Oct-06, to lugnet.trains, lugnet.admin.general, FTX)

Re: posting to the robotics newsgroup

(...) Probably because the robotics group is connected to a mailing list (since sometime in the 90s), and someone subscribed the wrong addresses to that list. The only thing that can be done from the lugnet POV, afaik, is to break the gateway - not (...) (18 years ago, 12-Oct-06, to lugnet.admin.general)

  posting to the robotics newsgroup

Does anyone know why, when I post to the lugnet.robotics newsgroups I get two emails, one from payments-autorespond...amazon.com and another from mailer-daemon@google.com reporting a delivery failure.
