Possibly deliberately, as the subscription process requires
confirmation.

I have asked the gateway admin to investigate - I don't know what the
turnaround on this may be like.

The only thing that can be done from the lugnet POV, afaik, is to break the gateway - not (...) (18 years ago, 12-Oct-06, to lugnet.admin.general)
