Re: Have the admins gone AWOL?

(...) Ok, I just added this one. We should probably make it better known that db@lugnet.com is the best way to submit requests for data base updates. One thing for me is that it's easier to keep track of these. I've got a bunch of stuff I will be (...) (22 years ago, 24-Jan-03, to lugnet.admin.general, lugnet.admin.database)

Re: Can postings that had their e-mail authentication blocked stil be retrieved?

(...) That would be very helpfull. (...) Fortunately, on January 23th my provider decided to lift the ban again, possibly after evaluating the case by themselves, despite that the ORDB listing still exists.   Re: Have the admins gone AWOL?

(...) We're working to correct this problem. It is not my place, however, to elaborate on this. (...) Work is being done on the database on almost a daily basis. We don't always get to things in any particular order, but eventually, all updates will (...) (22 years ago, 24-Jan-03, to lugnet.admin.general)

Re: Have the admins gone AWOL?

(...) Yes. I believe several people who have offical standing are aware of the open relay problem and how serious it is and are trying to address it. It is not my place to give details of communications I may or may not have had without permission, (...) (22 years ago, 23-Jan-03, to lugnet.admin.general)

  Have the admins gone AWOL?

I'm getting concerned about the lack of response from anyone official regarding the open mail relay issue. Add to this the lack of updates to the database from recent requests (I supplied full info for a new set weeks ago, with offers of box scans (...) (22 years ago, 23-Jan-03, to lugnet.admin.general)

How does a new group get established?

Not certain if admin.general and .faq are right for this, so feel free to FUT somewhere if you deem it better. The participants in the Starship RPG have mentioned possibly estabishling a Lugnet newsgroup for our discussions. The message boards we (...)   Re: Unsorted lot of over 5800 pcs.

(...) For the one auction a blue moon, I wouldn't worry about where the updates go. I'd much rather see a separate place for eBay auctions so that I can see the personally run auction when a blue moon occurs. Frank (22 years ago, 23-Jan-03, to lugnet.admin.general)

Re: Unsorted lot of over 5800 pcs.

(...) Personally, I think the standards have changed for auctions-- it used to be (in pre-ebay pre-bricklink days) that people would hold auctions themselves and bash newsgroups with repeated auction updates. I think this continuous post beating is (...) (22 years ago, 23-Jan-03, to lugnet.admin.general)

Re: Can postings that had their e-mail authentication blocked stil be retrieved?

On the main point - new e-mails can be kicked off. I think Dan Boger is able to do this. (...) This really sucks. Fortunately my ISP isn't blocking Lugnet.   Re: Unsorted lot of over 5800 pcs.

(...) I agree that there should be a discussion area for brickshops (even though BrickLink has its own forums). I would personally like to see a separate place for BrickLink adds though.   Re: Unsorted lot of over 5800 pcs.

(...) I also agree with Frank almost completely except for Larry's exception which I agree is correct. But, like Frank has stated many times, simply agreeing won't get us anywhere. Some fixes are in order. I guess since I hold the role of curator (...) (22 years ago, 23-Jan-03, to lugnet.admin.general)
