Top 50 LEGO sets of all time

Here is a compilation of the top 50 LEGO sets of all time, as rated by LUGNET members... RANK SCORE VOTES SET ==== ===== ===== ===...=== 1. 96.50 20 6399 Airport Shuttle 2. 96.41 64 8480 Space Shuttle / "FOS Light" Space Shuttle 3. 96.40 25 4547 (...) (...) <snip> (...) <snip> (...) Thanks for this list Todd, it is really nice. Many shuttles in this list, but what I found stranger was the difference between above sets 497 and 928. Both refer to the same set, but there is some difference in (...) (23 years ago, 12-Mar-01, to lugnet.admin.database, lugnet.general)

Re: Top 50 LEGO sets of all time

(...) Thanks Todd :-) What struck me as interesting is that (old) idea books (6000, 8888) made it in the top ranks of the best rated sets. The 'most wanted' list is also very interesting: the top is dominated with train sets and the 8480 Space (...) (23 years ago, 12-Mar-01, to lugnet.admin.database, lugnet.general)

Re: Top 50 LEGO sets of all time

(...) Oops, my fault. That database doesn't know that 497 and 928 are the exact same set under different numbers. People rated both very highly. The fact that 928 got fewer votes (instances of ratings) indicates that more people probably have 497 (...) (23 years ago, 12-Mar-01, to lugnet.admin.database, lugnet.general)

Re: Top 50 LEGO sets of all time

Great list but what is this... (...) Hey I like train stuff but really... The most confounding thing about it is that 21 people took the time to rate it and so many rated it so high. I like track too but I didn't even take the time to enter it into (...) (23 years ago, 12-Mar-01, to lugnet.admin.database, lugnet.general)

Re: Top 50 LEGO sets of all time

(...) Yeah, I was also suprised by the 'accessory' sets: 26. 93.33 9 7860 Remote Controlled Signal with Straight Track 43. 91.36 22 4515 Straight Tracks Of course it'd be probably most interesting to filter out everything with less than X votes or (...)   Re: Top 50 LEGO sets of all time

(...) I don't see any problem with folks rating that one. If I was into 12V trains I'd probably rate it high also. (...) That certainly is unusual, but I suspect that it mostly is an "error" due to the small sample size (none of the sets has more (...)   Re: Top 50 LEGO sets of all time

Since this list consists predominantly of sets from the last 20 years, I would add a few others that I think people would have loved, had they been old enought to enjoy them (from the 60's and 70's). Here's my own top 7 list of older sets: 1) (...) (23 years ago, 12-Mar-01, to lugnet.admin.database, lugnet.general)

Re: Top 50 LEGO sets of all time

(...) Go here and sort by "Lowest Rated"... (URL) interesting that the new race cars are among the lowest rated. Hmm, what I'd like to see is a graph with the numeric year of release along the x-axis and the ratings along the y-axis. --Todd (23 years ago, 13-Mar-01, to lugnet.admin.database, lugnet.general)

I can't work out how this got such a low vote : 5307 Head Light Brick. One either needs it or not. It has more or less a single function - which it meets? Scott A (...) (23 years ago, 13-Mar-01, to lugnet.admin.database, lugnet.general)

I didn't rate this one so I am just guessing, but I know I rated some of the electric stuff low not because it doesn't function as designed, but because of price performance... 30 bucks for a SINGLE temperature sensor, for (...)
