Re: Star Wars change: Change to "Y-Wing"

(...) Ahh, good work! (...) Hmm, probably because when it's singular it's most apt to appear in a title, as in "TIE Fighter" being the name, whereas when it's plural it's most apt to appear as an adjective-noun pair? (...) Okie dokie. Good work! (...) (26 years ago, 7-May-99, to lugnet.admin.database)

  Re: Star Wars fixes

(...) That's a good reason too! Say, all this speculation about minifigs and what's natural/useful to track led me to go dig up my first Space set listing that I made when I was a kid. FWIW, here it is exactly* as it appeared around Christmastime of (...) (26 years ago, 7-May-99, to lugnet.admin.database)

Star Wars change: Change to "Y-Wing"

Per the Shop at Home catalog, and the official reference at (URL) changed "Y-Wing" to "Y-wing" "TIE Fighter" / "TIE fighter" is tougher to gauge, as both www.starwars.com and the S@H catalog seem to have inconsistencies here. It almost seems that (...) (26 years ago, 7-May-99, to lugnet.admin.database)

  Re: Star Wars fixes

(...) Also, it's important enough at LSI that the count is listed in each set description in the LEGO Shop At Home catalog. This is actually what I suspected to be the original reason Lou tracked them, actually. -- joshua (26 years ago, 7-May-99, to lugnet.admin.database)

  Re: 1029: "TINE melkebil"

Todd Lehman wrote in message ... (...) I haven't seen it but have you seen the *ich* Mega Blocks gum ad?? Well, anyway, if I want to contribute pics for the Pause Database, I just post the URL here? Any specifications requested? Well then check (...) (26 years ago, 7-May-99, to lugnet.admin.database)

In lugnet.admin.database, Todd Lehman writes: <clip> (...) Sebula should go in the recycle bin. (1) Ben Gatrelle (1) Of course he can always be restored from the recycle bin, if after the movie I think he's great. (26 years ago, 7-May-99, to lugnet.admin.database)

  Re: Star Wars fixes

(...) What if you consider a minifig/figure that which is supposedly a sentient character? Another can of worms then, I know, but it's closer. Assuming this definition, it might be prudent to see the movie first to try and determine what fits into (...) (26 years ago, 7-May-99, to lugnet.admin.database, lugnet.starwars)

  Re: Star Wars fixes

(...) There's a real fuzzy line with varying levels of gray. A peg-leg pirate is maybe only 95% a minifig, and a skeleton only 80% a minifig. Gasgano might be 25% and the battle droids 40% and Artoo 10%. Threepio might be 90% but we'll have to wait (...) (26 years ago, 7-May-99, to lugnet.admin.database, lugnet.starwars)

  Re: Star Wars fixes

(...) Well, because that's the way Lou started it when he started it. And it's a very popular thing (as in, it's something that a lot of people care about for some reason). Something special about minifigs. (...) Was hoping to (very long-term) get (...) (26 years ago, 7-May-99, to lugnet.admin.database)

  Re: Star Wars fixes

Jar Jar is a minifig. The only thing non-minifig about him is his head. R2 and the eps1 battle droids should form a new catagory of robots or droids(I mean this in the Ldraw catagorization method) Ryan "Build or build not. There is no try." - Lego (...)   Re: Star Wars fixes

Arguably neither Jar Jar nor R2-D2 are minifigs.. minifigs have normal heads which rules out Jar Jar, no? And if R-D2 is one, so is the E1 droid, and so is a skeleton. (...) (26 years ago, 6-May-99, to lugnet.admin.database, lugnet.starwars)

  Re: Star Wars fixes

(...) My vote would be to keep the count of figures as the number of mini-figs (of course for Scala this should be the number of dolls, etc). I would not count Sebulba as a figure. There's actually a can of worms here... Why do we have this one (...) (26 years ago, 6-May-99, to lugnet.admin.database)

  Re: Star Wars fixes

(...) Gasgano has a non-skeleton, new minifig head, atop a "Space Chainsaw Handle" (1), with two pairs of limbs from the new driods (2). (...) I would count him as a figure, only if octopi, manta rays, and cats are too. Cheers, - jsproat 1. Or (...) (26 years ago, 6-May-99, to lugnet.admin.database)

  Re: Star Wars fixes

(...) "When I was a kid" :o) it used to be so simple. :) Well, anyway, the field says "Figures" and not "Minifigs." So if Gasgano is counted, the pit droids should probably count. But the pit droids can't count because they're just regular pieces. (...) (26 years ago, 6-May-99, to lugnet.admin.database)

Re: A couple of data points

(...) If it's not an official piece count, it typically goes in as the number followed by a question mark, with some explanatory comments in an admin field. In many cases the source is also logged in the admin field even when it does come from the (...) (26 years ago, 6-May-99, to lugnet.admin.database)

Re: A couple of data points

(...) Out of curiosity, Todd, what if they were from other sources, say one of each? Would you use it with some behind the scenes method of flagging it as imperfect, or would you not use it at all? (26 years ago, 6-May-99, to lugnet.admin.database)

  Re: Star Wars fixes

(...) Yah I goofed :-, One of the alien drivers (Gasgano?) is constructed from more-or-less ordinary pieces; is that counted as a minifig? The other driver is a single molded piece, too... (...) Yep. Cheers, - jsproat (26 years ago, 6-May-99, to lugnet.admin.database)

  Re: Star Wars fixes

(...) Hey Todd, the box count for 7150 is 407, I don't have the other boxes handy but I will check them tomorrow night if nobody else does before then. Mike (26 years ago, 6-May-99, to lugnet.admin.database)

  Re: Star Wars fixes

(...) Heh heh, where did the "not 4" come from? It's currently listed as 7 -- for Anakin, R2, Jar Jar, Qui-Gon, Padme, Sebulba, and Gasgano. (...) Where do the piece counts come from? - Directly from the box (official count)? - From a catalog (...) (26 years ago, 6-May-99, to lugnet.admin.database)

  Re: Star Wars fixes

(...) Nix this fix -- I goofed here. The others are good, though. Cheers, - jsproat (26 years ago, 6-May-99, to lugnet.admin.database)
