  Re: Sorting

(...) I hear you. My kids are really bad about building from sorted bins. For about a week after I've done major sorting, they'll come up with creations made from all 1xN plates, or only round pieces. Thought about sorting by colors vs sorting by (...) (...) Because it really messes up using Lego dragons for Pernese dragons when the wings are a different color! I've been forced to create my own dragon! Out of blocks! And I have not figured out yet where I am going to get bronze or gold blocks! (Or (...) (26 years ago, 23-Oct-98, to lugnet.general)

(...) Yup. I had 4 of these at one point as you got one with each box of wheels/axle bricks you bought. I only have one now. I distinctly remember one was destroyed by my chewing on it when I was about 8. Sigh. I also remember trying very hard to (...) (26 years ago, 29-Oct-98, to lugnet.general)

  New Service Packs for 1999..

Dear LEGO, You've gotten some good new 1999 service packs. First of all the black sloped bricks are great (even though 2 important black sloped pieces are missing from this set). The green bricks as a separate pack are great also, as are the black (...) (26 years ago, 19-Jan-99, to lugnet.dear-lego)

  Re: Lego Creator CD

LEGO Creator is not perfect. It is a whole lot slower 'loading' than LDRAW. (Extremely slower. I have a P233 and the techie had a P2 300 and he was complaining about how slow it was.) However, once it loads it's speed seems unaffected by the number (...) (26 years ago, 25-Oct-98, to lugnet.cad)

(...) I don't see much in Insectoids. The main reason is that they have so many specialized pieces. If they built the same shapes with the pieces they had five years ago, I would be all for them. Wow. wowwowowow. The Star Wars sets look really good, I think. The snow speeder is great. You know, those Insectiod 4x4 half-domes are starting to look a lot like Star Destroyer shield generators, don'tcha know. The speed bike set is a fantastic (...) (26 years ago, 31-Oct-98, to lugnet.general)

(...) I like the variety of newer faces for lego minifigs, but in some cases, I think TLG's gone too far*. I mean, printing a very intricate face on the standard yellow LEGO head seems a bit like putting a spoiler on a Model-T IMO. That's not to say (...) (26 years ago, 25-Oct-98, to lugnet.general)

Actually, I had decided to go very big on a pyramid, which I finished last weekend. After building a pyramid on a 48x48 baseplate (nice sounding drum, by the way), went for an 80-stud wide pyramid, built upon a 48x48 surrounded by a ring of 16x32's. (...)
