  Re: Town Style Building Question

Another idea, which I was implementing on my large station project when i packed it away <sniff> is to use technic pin/bricks to hold building sections together. While this wiggles when the surface abutting is small (c.f. Deep Freeze Defender and (...) (26 years ago, 6-Apr-99, to lugnet.build)

Re: And now a lovely beverage (was Re: Golden Gate Bridge cables)

(...) Thanks for the info Jeff. It looks like some of my Lampposts have part of a Homemaker Coffee Pot as the lamp. I wonder if these 1x1 (fat) minifig rounds in regular clear are rare? Were there any recent sets that had these? As for the gable (...) (25 years ago, 30-Apr-99, to lugnet.build)

  Re: 4x4 white quarter-circle bricks for auction/trade

Well, I'm a bit braindead - the ones in the other auction are the "macaroni" bricks ( (URL) ), mine are FOURbyFOUR quarter-circles ( (URL) ). So please temper your bidding with this knowledge, as mine aren't quite as rare/popular. Sorry for getting (...) (25 years ago, 9-May-99, to lugnet.market.auction)

  Identify this piece

Yup, another 'where did this come from' post :) This resembles nothing so much as a minifig scale washtub. It's approx 2 bricks high, 4 studs wide at the base, 5 wide at the top. It has a 2x2 round type of connection for sticking it to baseplates, (...) (26 years ago, 6-Apr-99, to lugnet.general)

Re: An Episode I Set Finally Revealed...

My guess is that the bricks are purple for two reasons: 1. Though the red in the scan is very red... the faces on the minifigs and in the SW logo are yellow, and not orange. 2. It also looks to my eye like a color match to MegaBlocks dark (...) (25 years ago, 15-Apr-99, to lugnet.starwars)

Re: 5151 Steep Sloped Bricks (45 deg)

This (and a "rarest piece" thread in lugnet.general) reminds me of a rare sloped brick piece that I'm sure some of you who have any 1960's LEGO will recognize, and that is a 2x2 regular sloped apex (peak) brick that instead of an "I" ridge line has (...)   Contest du jour: Best sets <10 bricks in shortest dimension

Hi, Contest du jour: I have an office "air-quarium" (glass enclosed volume to put stuff in) that is 10 bricks deep, and about 65-70 bricks long, by about a foot high. What are your favorite, or "Best" sets to fit this space to display? Also, please (...) (25 years ago, 25-May-99, to lugnet.general, lugnet.loc.us.ca.sf, lugnet.starwars)

Re: LEGO Window & Door History - Part 3

Right vs. Left hand doors are another interesting LEGO variation (like the classic window "sill" vs. "sill-less" varieties). I know that with the Classic Doors (3 bricks high), the 3 colors they come in are red, white, yellow. Of these I have both (...) (26 years ago, 5-Apr-99, to lugnet.build)

  Re: Town Style Building Question

Good question, I wrestle with that one myself. I usually build a roof on it, unless it is a flat roof building. If it is a flat roof, I might put one row of angled bricks to make it look feasible for a roof, kind of like a decoy. I always leave the (...) (26 years ago, 5-Apr-99, to lugnet.build)
