| Guys, Everyone seems to be missing one point: The RCX does have ROM code (this is what loads the firmware the first time, right?). If you were to "jam up" the firmware, you could just simply remove the batteries, let the firmware (which must be in (...) (26 years ago, 25-Nov-98, to lugnet.robotics)

| | IR at RTL9

| Hi everyone, I have a few questions about IR. It seems that we are going to be seeing a lot of multiple RCX robots at the next event. This is great, but I was really wanting to do proximity detection (which requires IR). Since the other robot(s) (...) (23 years ago, 2-May-01, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

I could see plausibly $120/year, based on $10/month or so, but even that's pretty high. I might pay that. Maybe. I'd (...) (23 years ago, 4-Apr-02, to lugnet.admin.finance)

| The problem with programming the built-in IR in the Palm is that one needs to access and control the hardware directly. You can't use the normal programming interfaces for controlling the IR.
