Re: Dilemma: How best to honor Gary Louie

Thanks all for your thoughts. I got some good offline suggestions as well, and what I'm seeing form as a consensus is to auction off whatever stuff ends up being donated (there's no need to actually send it to me, the donators can just send to the (...)   hats

I was at Mall of America last night and I had a hat made at a place that does custom embroidery on baseball caps. It's bright red. Pretty close to TLG Logo red, actually. On the front it says "I read RTL" in big letters, and on the back (in an arch (...) (26 years ago, 25-Feb-99, to lugnet.general, lugnet.market.shopping)

Re: More reactions to Star Wars sets?

(...) IF mine came, I'll post saturday unless someone else has already. They were sent home, and I'm glad I chose there as the project I was on at the time I ordered them is not the same project that I am on now. (26 years ago, 25-Feb-99, to lugnet.starwars)

  Re: TRU returning open sets

(...) If true, I wonder what TLG does with them? Can't resell them. Too expensive to part out and reuse. I bet they dump them in the parts bins that the Imagination Centers have... But I don't think it's true, mostly. I think TRU ends up tossing (...) (26 years ago, 25-Feb-99, to lugnet.dear-lego)

  Re: My new diesel electric

Nice work, Chris. I like the staggered grey stripes and the radiator bubble in back. When I heard this was 8 wide, I was concerned that it wouldn't look "to scale" with other stuff but it looks good. I'm gonna have to start doing some of these half (...) (26 years ago, 25-Feb-99, to lugnet.trains)

That link seems to be wrong. It seems that pasting in DejaNews URLs doesn't work any more?? Anyway, you can find it yourself by doing a dejanews powersearch on group rec.toys.lego with keywords century skyway and author Larry Pieniazek.. Maybe this (...)   Re: hats

One quick point, the hat I did is text only. I have permission for text only, and have no intent of a logoed version until and unless the trademark holder (that's Todd and Suz) grants it. I don't anticipate that in time for the opening. (26 years ago, 26-Feb-99, to lugnet.general, lugnet.market.shopping)

Re: Auction: Paradisa 6404 Carriage Ride

I'm confused, people. Why am I the only bidder on this? I certainly don't have to take all three, and there seemed a lot of interest in it, yet I'm holding at the opening bid level! (...) (26 years ago, 26-Feb-99, to lugnet.market.auction)

Re: Whose Line Is It Anyway?

In a typical US network move, because they have no imagination, it's been repackaged with a US host, Drew Carey. Not the first show, not the last. I used to watch the UK show that was morphed into "Three's Company". Way better than the US version. (...) (26 years ago, 26-Feb-99, to lugnet.off-topic.fun)

These hats fit all the criteria except price, at least at the one-off level. They are pretty good quality hats, with cloth sizing adjusters and the design is embroidered in.
