Re: Why is the monorail motor so special?

(...) So what?! TLC is in the business of making moulds so that they can manufacture thousands of little plastic modular elements that comprise a supposed "system" of building blocks. I have the strange idea that TLC can and does make moulds for (...) (23 years ago, 3-Aug-01, to lugnet.trains)

  Re: A fan no more

(...) I blame TLC for this man's sadness. 2003 just raised everyone's expectations too high. Along with some truly inspired set designs, I think 2003 saw a genuine change in direction closer to the "true" Lego values as I see them, and I haven't (...) (20 years ago, 15-Jul-04, to lugnet.general)

Bionicle (and Jack Stone) sponsor commercial-lite broadcat of Samurai Jack

Imagine how my delight was amplified when, while I came across a great new show on Cartoon Network called Samurai Jack, ads for Bionicle ran _after_ the show. Lego had sponsored the whole show! (The villain, Aku, is an evil shape-shifting wizard. (...) (23 years ago, 11-Aug-01, to lugnet.technic.bionicle, lugnet.mediawatch)

Saw some of the new Harry Potter sets...

I tried to CC this message to lugnet.general, but messed up. Anyhow, here are the most general parts of the message. I snipped the detail. If you want to read it, go to the lugnet.harrypotter board. If you have an interest in Castle, but not HP, I (...) (23 years ago, 15-Jun-01, to lugnet.general)

  too quiet.. so a survey...

Hi any and all Fabuland fans and fans of Fabuland elements, It has been all together too quiet here at lugnet.fabuland, so in the hopes of getting some chatter going. I watch the local stores here in Singapore very closely.   South African Shopper's Report

[nb: I've set FU->.market.shopping, but set it as you will based upon your point of order.] Hi, everyone. It's time for your South African Shopper's Report!   Re: Bugs... National get together - June Long Weekend

(...) One consideration (which favours a hall over a house) is the fact that it may be cold and windy at that time of year. In which case, it would need to be inside, and that reduces the space available at most houses here. I've used a Uniting (...) (22 years ago, 8-Apr-02, to lugnet.loc.au, lugnet.loc.au.qld.bri)

Re: Question on Train Wheel Diameter, Minifig Scale

(...) Not in the slightest. Correct width, assuming standard gauge of 4' 8.5", should be 10 wide (or about 1 stud to 1 foot). LEGO train wheels on 10 wides don't look good, IMO. (...)
