   Great work as always!

Thanks, Bruce!

Massacre of the Anakim - I didn’t reallize there were different faces for the big round-headed figs. I had one of those in my first LEGO set that could either be a man or woman depending on whether you added the hat or the female hair, so I just assumed these were as generic as the classic smiley.

Yeah there are a few different faces for the maxifigs (though I did photoshop less-than-happy mouth shapes in these images). I think I have three different faces I use--I also have the one with glasses, but I didn’t thikn the Anakim would be that technologically advanced. I wish I had the one with the enormous handlebar mustache! I didn’t even know about that one until I just saw it right now on Bricklink! Wow, that top hat is pretty spiffy too!

It is weird to think that in going from maxifig to minifig, LEGO people took a step toward being more generic.

I like the inclusion of the bucket, as that is way too big for minifigs.

It was nice to get a chance to use that.

My favorite is probably the honey-pot ambush. :)

Dastardly. :)

One question--why these and not Belville figs? I’m sure you’ve bought some Belville sets for the unique elements, and I’m sure that lots of AFOLs would have enjoyed the massacre of Belville figs. Or even better, Jack Stone.

Back when I did the story of the Sons of God in Genesis, I used maxifigs, and since these Anakim are descended from the Nephilim, I decided to use the same figures. But you could argue that the offspring of the Nephilim and the minifig “human” women would result in something in-between in size, like Belville or Jack Stone scale figures. Then again--wouldn’t any descendants of the Nephilim have been wiped out in The Flood?

Joshua Dies - I agree with Lenny, the mood in the first pic is great--something about the lighting or the focus gives it a foreboding feel.

Glad that worked.

   Nice graves, btw.

Thanks. It’s always interesting to do some under-the-baseplate level construction.

On to Judges! I’m looking forwarde to Samson, especially.

Judges has some really great stories. I’m 85% sure that is what I will start illustrating next. @8^)

Until then,

-Brendan
