Hi, Stephane. Thanks. I will try to maintain my level of craftsmanship and
story re-telling. :)

On a more biblical note.... I half expected Yawheh to kill Joshua himself like
he did with Moses. Oo

Well, in my reading, Yahweh doesnt actually kill Moses himself either--at least
not directly (he doesnt strike him dead or anything). But he does basically
tell Moses when to die. And although Moses was previously able to talk God out
of killing all the Israelites when God had made up his mind to do so
(see
here), he is later unsuccessful in even convincing Yahweh to let him merely
step foot in the promised land before dying
(see
here).
It does strike the reader that there seems to be little if any earthly reward
(or even thanks from Yahweh) for these two men who seemed to have done Yahwehs
will to an almost inhumanly flawless degree. And there is no mention of any
post-death reward for them either (the idea of heaven or post-death paradise
does not seem to be in evidence anywhere in the books of Moses or in Joshua).
This is fitting with what I take to be the sum message of the Hebrew Bible (Old
Testament): Stay on Yahwehs good side--but even that is no guarantee.
