Re: Rusty Freight Car - an experiment

(...) Nice job Tim. The improvements I imagine : Colors : replace yellow by tan. The colors must be washed out. When I look the original picture, the first thing which comes to me is the vertical lines, resulting of the rust which flown. I will (...)   Re: Joining the fun...

Trevyn, Ivan, Jeff W, I understand why you did not bring robots to the last R13 contest. I can see by all the digital doctoring, and fantastic ART WORK that you did that secretly; you "engineers" really want to be ARTSIE types. So I hear by free (...)   Re: .space Subtheme Guide

(...) Thanks for doing this Kevin; it is a great service to the community, and a wonderful resource for newcomers to get a handle on the multiplicity of themes. It may also be a can of worms, so to speak... I don't mean to quibble here, but I think (...) (21 years ago, 1-Apr-04, to lugnet.space, FTX)

  Re: broken RCX

Well, after a little looking around on Lugnet & googling "RCX internals" I found that one problem when people take apart RCXs is that a small surface mount fuse on the board is blown. After poking around with my el-cheapo test light, I found that (...) (19 years ago, 5-Feb-06, to lugnet.org.us.laflrc)

  Dremel on plastic?

Hello all, I've found a reasonable storage solution for my technic bits. At the local handyman store (Clas Ohlsson here in Stockholm), they have boxes with various size compartments that can be closed and locked. I think they are made by Raaco. All (...)   Re: RCX --> miniBoard(was: lack of interest in basic stamp and basicx)

You all may think that I'm nuts, but I've kinda had a pipe dream for a while about putting a basic 32 bit CPU in the RCX enclosure. Something like a Motorola 68k or ColdFire. Lots and lots of tools out there for 32 bit micros! Heck, if money were no (...) (25 years ago, 23-Nov-99, to lugnet.robotics)

  Re: Good vs. Evil

(...) Hm...this is interesting to me. I don't really have as much 'good' and 'evil' as might be expected...instead, my Castle-time LEGOs seem to have set up a rather complex political situation. A long time ago, the land was united under one ruler, (...) (25 years ago, 27-Sep-99, to lugnet.castle)

  Worm gear driven turntable

So I've been working on various wormgear combinations over the past week or so, and I came up with something that might be of use to folks: (URL) like the technic geared turntables, but they are a bit big.   Lego lights?

When I was a little kid I got a kit for adding electric lights to my creations.
