  Re: The NEXT game.

(...) Just a suggestion from an 'outsider' (non-RTL person) - how about robots that have to climb the rope, then back down to the ground, and back to their starting spot, or to a common "finish line"? This would make multiple challenges: Find the (...) (21 years ago, 2-Feb-04, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

Re: 8-wide "Hogwart's Express" using Big Ben wheels

(...) I'm not sure how well it shows up in the pictures, but the middle driver axle is a 'blind' driver - the flanges have been removed from those two wheels. This way, I'm really just running a two-axle configuration, the middle axle is more for (...) (21 years ago, 16-Mar-04, to lugnet.trains, FTX)

Re: Chat with Kate & Jake / translation to English

(...) OK, I had to think about this for a while - but it does raise a question: How do they determine how many PaB cups of bricks are in a carton? Do they just guestimate, or do they fill a cup and work off of that? Because, AFOLs (and kids!) who (...) (21 years ago, 8-Jan-04, to lugnet.general, lugnet.lego.direct)

  Re: Question about BFPDX

(...) Nope! Not the fault of anyone associated with Brickfest, they all did a great job and I had a wonderful time in rainy Portland. I'm upset that the Lego company can be so stupid! What they're basically saying to us fans is "<censored> you! We (...) (21 years ago, 18-Feb-04, to lugnet.general, lugnet.dear-lego)

Re: PaB Inventory On-line for the iPhone

(...) I was at the Mall of America store a few Saturdays ago. In my less than half-hour there, I saw them have to bring out three new boxes of PaB parts to fill empty 'holes' in the wall. Keeping this data timely is going to be very difficult. (...) (17 years ago, 11-Apr-08, to lugnet.general, FTX)

Just because the friendly N-scalers at the next layout are running a locomotive that was last sold in 1985 doesn't change the fact that there are hundreds (...) (...) Speaking as an 'outsider', I don't see rtlToronto that way at all. I think if I were to drop in unannounced and unexpected with a 'bot for one of your events, I'd be welcomed with open arms and smiles and offers of Canadian beer. (No thanks on (...) If you're making something *really* large, you might have to brace each triangle with a second set of hinges on the corners. Don't know how well it shows (...)   icosahedron in soccer-ball style

Inspired by Steve DeCraemer's (URL) S.P.U.> (picture by Rob Hendrix) first shown at Brickfest 2003, I decided to build a bigger version. Six BrickLink orders, over 4000 pieces, 180 triangles - and this is what I came up with. (2 URLs) Gallery (after (...) (21 years ago, 15-Sep-03, to lugnet.announce, lugnet.build.sculpture, FTX) !

(...) Oh, that set brings back a fond memory. When I was working at the LEGO Imagination Center at the Mall of America I got to take a 5541 home to build it for display. I spent about three hours gluing (using MEK & 'super glue') it together, I even (...) (20 years ago, 8-May-04, to lugnet.general, lugnet.lego, FTX)

  Re: Big Ben's trainwheels

(...) Have you seen these wheels after they've been "de-flanged"? For a 2-10-0, you could use four wheels 'as is', and 6 that had been their flanges removed. This would allow you to shorten the frame considerably. I know Ben is working on a way to (...) (21 years ago, 5-Feb-04, to lugnet.trains)
