I've discovered the problem. When I mounted the Handyboard, I used metal standoffs. When the board is mounted, it doesn't work. When it isn't, it does. (...) this is correct... (...) but this is not. the Handy Board communicates with the desktop computer using the SCI: serial communications interface. yup, here's what's going on. the motor percent argument controls the POWER, not the speed. if the motor is essentially unloaded, it will run at nearly full speed even at a low power percentage. if you build a gear train that makes the motor do some (...) can you ascertain whether the knob is returning the same value every time through the loop? i wasn't clear if "even when the knob is not changing" meant just that you weren't turning the knob, or whether you were sure it was always producing the (...) When I tried to download the S19 code to my mini board by using Fred Martin's dlm, I got the error message "board memory error." I recently bought a Handy Board which works fine, but my version of Interactive C wants to communicate with the board via COM1 only. Actually, unless Fred has changed the way the sensor connectors work he was quite clever in that the spacing of the I/O connectors is exactly dip switch width. Basically you can plug in a DIP switch into the I/O header and get as many switches as (...) (27 years ago, 22-Aug-97, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)

The code found at (URL) was intended for connecting a Handy Board to the host PC. It is possible to connect two Handy Boards, but you must use a NETWORK style RJ11 cable, rather than the usual TELEPHONE style RJ11. See the FAQ, under entry "The R11 (...) I was wondering whether there was an estimated date for the availability of the said expansion board for the HB... there is a design and schematics for a proposed Exp Board on the web site from February and I remember a thread of discussion and (...)
