  Cthulego Rising

Since my dark ages ended I've been meaning to build this. A MOC where the LEGO Adventurers meet H.P. Lovecraft’s Cthulhu Mythos. Cthulego is born! The futility of mini-figs fighting against the horrors of un-named creatures, things from the ancient (...)   Re: Maze robot testing

(...) The only time I ran it I used 1x4's and tested in a "U" shape (both clockwise & counterclockwise) on my kitchen floor. This worked great, until event day when the floor friction fouled me up (I may have to cobble up a test system like Bryan (...) (19 years ago, 1-Feb-06, to lugnet.org.us.laflrc)

  broken RCX

Some of you may have been aware of my "posessed" rcx. It was a little screwed up. When I powered it on, sometimes it would just start up motor output A for no reason at all. It would run motor A indefinitly if I let it. Sometimes running a program (...) (19 years ago, 4-Feb-06, to lugnet.org.us.laflrc)

  The NXT step for HiTechnic?

Browsing around the HiTechnic site I noticed this update: (URL) So the NXT digital interface is already showing some of its strengths it seems. I was always surprised that John could even get 3 degrees of accuracy out of that sensor, but with 1 (...) (19 years ago, 4-Feb-06, to lugnet.robotics)

  Re: broken RCX

Well, after a little looking around on Lugnet & googling "RCX internals" I found that one problem when people take apart RCXs is that a small surface mount fuse on the board is blown. After poking around with my el-cheapo test light, I found that (...) (19 years ago, 5-Feb-06, to lugnet.org.us.laflrc)

Re: It's awfully quiet in here

(...) Well, I'm mostly quiet because I'm just coming back from a set of robot games in Northern Indiana, where I was only able to enter two robots... and one of them didn't run at all due to a dead (& I mean DEAD) RCX. So anybody want to help out (...) (19 years ago, 27-Feb-06, to lugnet.robotics)

How could you have not gone with Brokebrick Mountain?! :) I haven't seen the movie, so I can't comment on how well these scenes capture the feel of the movie, but there's some nice elements here.   Re: turtle coding kit (Re: How would we (the rest of us) communicate ideas to the MDP?)

(...) I'd go further than that - I may be wrong here, but AFAIK professional roboticists largely consider dead reckoning to be a losing game, an amateur red-herring that you can waste all the time and money you want on and it will still never work (...)   turtle coding kit (Re: How would we (the rest of us) communicate ideas to the MDP?)

(...) I'll chime in here (I lurk way too much): Given the choice, I'd like to see included in NXT a software module for coding dead-reckoning navigation for turtle-type robots, kind of like here: (URL) since the NXT motors have built-in encoders, (...)   Re: turtle coding kit (Re: How would we (the rest of us) communicate ideas to the MDP?)

(...) Having given this a bit more thought, the code would be almost the same. Even though the encoders are built-in, there's no guarantee that the motors themselves are matched. You would still need control loops to ensure that the motors rotate at (...) (19 years ago, 22-Feb-06, to lugnet.robotics)
