  Re: Dead RCX

(...) Thanks for the response. I tried bending the tabs to ensure they were making contact with the batteries. That didn't work, so I opened the case and confirmed that the 9V (actually 9.6V) was reaching the voltage regulator. It was, so I know (...) (23 years ago, 19-May-01, to lugnet.robotics.rcx)

  Train1 Reversing loop

Hi folks, I thought I'd mention that in my chunk of the train1 layout I intend to provide a reversing loop (If S@H delivers my points fast enough) The basic idea here is that with the reversing loop and a tiny amount of training about how to throw (...)   Dead IR Tower

Well, after months of flaky IR comms between my tower and the RCX, I can finally say that the tower has died. :-( I've forgotten who first suggested it, but using a videocamera to see if the IR led is still functional is brilliant! In lugnet.off-topic.debate, Richard Marchetti writes: <snip rebuffing-of-Scott-part> (...) I agree. That is definitely the key here. (...) I *completely* agree. (...) Hi Dustin, no - we asked for the changes and got the answer for the sets I quoted. Therefore I expected the 10020 and 10027 to remain in old SYSTEM gray. And I was shocked to find out I had to dump 75 Eur into the trashcan (or at least half of (...) (19 years ago, 29-Mar-06, to lugnet.color)
