Re: Frank's first LEGO train set has been a 111

(...) Dear Frank, from the dominatiog colour blue and the box design one can assume this to be a 111 set. And there is a less than 5% chance that this could be a 115 (which is basically the same but came with the 4.5V motor included). Th box design (...) (20 years ago, 17-Feb-05, to lugnet.trains)

Re: COMPLETE LIST OF NEW SETS FOR 2000

(...) <shrug> Not much of an insight, mostly just a "holy! What's happening on Lugnet today??!?", then taking a step back and trying to see both sides. Plus, I've thought about this a fair bit because I'm (apparantly) an "expert" on some topics, and (...) (25 years ago, 6-Dec-99, to lugnet.off-topic.debate, lugnet.admin.general)

Re: COMPLETE LIST OF NEW SETS FOR 2000

(...) Yeah, that's easy: Because Star Wars fans online make a living of trading leaked information every single day, and they'd laugh in someone's face if it was suggested that what they were doing made them look bad as a community. They also don't (...) (25 years ago, 6-Dec-99, to lugnet.general, lugnet.publish)

Re: Transparent Yellow -- dead or alive?

(...) Yes, I pointed this out to my wife when I put my A-Wing together (which she gave me) on Christmas, since I had complained to her a few days earlier about the trans-neon-yellow "flames" in the torches of a Ninja set. Steve (25 years ago, 27-Dec-99, to lugnet.general)

RE: Sale Postings (was: Super Car on sale)

I'm very sorry to contribute to what is clearly a dead horse, but... This posting was very helpful to my ability (and, more importantly, my son's ability) to build cool 'bots. I appreciate the information. By the way, I saw it late (been out of (...) (25 years ago, 14-Dec-99, to lugnet.robotics)

  Re: Introducing LEGO Direct

Sounds good, but in advance you should be warned that being the direct contact for Lego, you will probably get sent some angry, nasty, and otherwise distasteful stuff. While most people do keep a sense of decency about network communications, there (...) (25 years ago, 10-Dec-99, to lugnet.general, lugnet.dear-lego)

Re: Odd Problem with Mlcad and POV

(...) Well, the funny thing happens to be that I started out complex at first and tried to combine stuff. When that gave me problems, I figured I would just simplify it to a road, car, and figure. Let me show you the work I'm trying to do. This is (...) (19 years ago, 25-Jul-05, to lugnet.cad, FTX)

(...) and (...) When I was 12 I made the ENTIRE LINE of Thundercats (now on Cartoon Network) on mini-fig scale. Nothing could touch my Thundercat Tank or my Cats Lair Fortress. My Mummra was EVIL and my Liono was authentic. If LEGO could team up (...) (25 years ago, 11-Dec-99, to lugnet.general, lugnet.dear-lego)

(...) Yeah, the middle technic pulleys are offset to the track around corners, but all sit dead center in straight-aways. I originally had rubber Technic belts from axel to axel to keep all of the wheels in motion, but it caused too much friction (...) (25 years ago, 14-Dec-99, to lugnet.trains)

(...) P.S. What do I love? Legos. My life would never have been the same without them. I love everything Lego that is not juniorized. What do I hate? Juniorization. You may have designed it for kids, but this adult has, and will continue to have, a (...) (25 years ago, 10-Dec-99, to lugnet.general, lugnet.dear-lego)

(...) Hi Eric, thanks for the links into your samsonite sets gallery - I wasn't aware about that cool resource and have bookmarked it immediately! I agree with your guess, that Frank might have had a 111 AND a 4.5V motorized set like 107 (or more (...) (20 years ago, 21-Feb-05, to lugnet.trains)

  Adventurer Maps

Dear Lego: Regarding the Adventurer Series Egypt tile maps, a small nit that I, as a geographer, feel compelled to make: The Pyramids of Cheops are on the west side of the Nile, not the east.
