Re: New MOCs: Some really tiny NYC landmarks

(...) Stefan: Glad you liked them! Yeah, the "1x2 plate with center stud" ( (URL) ) is really your best friend when doing this sort of thing. And other tricks...like the very top of the Empire State Building: I have a 1x2 brick set atop a 1x1 brick, (...) (22 years ago, 3-Jan-03, to lugnet.build.arch)

Re: The Rock (for my large church)

(...) I don't expect any derailments, since the only track that is going through is straight (2 tracks, each 12 sections long). The tunnel on the "waterfall" side is a "dummy" for now. Anyway, the large black wall contains a section that can be (...) (22 years ago, 28-Dec-02, to lugnet.trains)

Re: Nanosaucers! (January seed part MOC)

(...) Thanks Larry, Nothing says 'swoosh' quite like flames coming out of an MOC. If only the 5-stud pieces were as plentiful as the flames. (...) I'm sure there must be other applications. I just can't think of any at the moment. The construction (...) (21 years ago, 10-Feb-04, to lugnet.space, FTX)

  ABS... but which one?

Hi all, Some years ago I recall seeing an article about LEGO, where there was a small image of ABS granules being fed to a moulding machine. Back then I did not care too much about it, but now it appeared interesting enough to investigate... So I (...) (22 years ago, 2-Jan-03, to lugnet.general)

Review of 2942 Explore Logic (Duplo) Play House

Set #: 2942 Theme: Explore Logic (Duplo) Play House Set name: Play House (a bit unimaginative) URL: (URL) 3-6, 89 pieces, 4 figures. (C) 2000, no instruction manual. (...) #13015 II Battle of Helms Deep Approx. $xx.xx Figs 2 Men of Gondor, 4 Orcs Including wall section (+) By purchasing multiples of these sets, one could build as large as they desire without having too many 'character' minifigs. i.e. as in how (...)   The One Brick...(LOTR LEGO)

I dearly wished LEGO would of got a license agreement with LOTR instead of HP. Oh well. Based apon upon the outstanding LOTR Triliogy, I bring you: LOTR LEGO! (note: these sets are based upon the movies, not the books) #13000 Wraith Encounter (...) (22 years ago, 22-Jan-03, to lugnet.castle, lugnet.general)

Wacky sensor looking for a good home

I have a one of a kind sensor looking for a good home. It is an IR detector. Cool. It is so sensitive that it only works in almost complete darkness. Not so cool. It's sensitivity peaks in the well known 850nm region although it can "see" sources (...) (22 years ago, 16-Jan-03, to lugnet.robotics)

  Re: My modular castle creations

Beautiful! I have also been thinking along similar lines recently, and you have captured much of what was on my mind. The monochromality of your stuff doesn't bother me so much, castle tended to be all the same colour. I would however, suggest you (...) (22 years ago, 22-Jan-03, to lugnet.castle)

  . . . but I know what I like!

I decided something needed to be done to cover up the horrible wood panelling here in my living room, and seeing as I've been on an 8-bit building kick I decided that a bit of LEGO artwork would be just the thing.   Re: The beginning of the end of NATO?

(...) It's the inconsistent foreign policy that I really want to see the end of. I was being a little 'over the top' to make the point, but it's like, "Hey Joe Schmoo, until you get your act together, don't bother coming out!" So yes, I was a little (...)
