Glad you liked them!  Yeah, the "1x2 plate with center stud" (
http://img.lugnet.com/ld/3794.gif ) is really your best friend when doing
this sort of thing.

And other tricks...like the very top of the Empire State Building: I have a
1x2 brick set atop a 1x1 brick, centered!  I did this by using a "1x1 brick
w/ technic hole" ( http://img.lugnet.com/ld/6541.gif ), because it has a
hollow stud at the top.  Rick Ruiz's model appears to use a 1x1 x 5 tall
"wall" piece ( http://img.lugnet.com/ld/2453.gif ) to achieve the same
effect.  I couldn't do the same, since I wanted the "lighting" effect... but
kudos to Rick for coming up with that idea!
