My local TJ Hughes has a number of 6199's (a big-ish aquazone set) at 40. Not a major bargain, but if anyone needs me to get them one (or more), PLMK. Phil. (24 years ago, 12-Oct-00, to lugnet.loc.uk)

Dear All Asda have their 'sale' lego in at the moment 6190 'reduced' from £39.99 to £19.99 allegedly at the higher price in 10 Asda stores in the previous 6 months but as the set is from 1996 that seems a bit improbable. wrt to Phils post about TJ (...)   Re: Harry Potter getting left out

I would like to quickly comment on so many people's objection to Harry Potter. As a large fan of fantasy novels, I have always found this strong objection to fantasy from different religious factions quite peculiar. My first girlfriend many years (...)   Sunday as a special day

The idea of keeping the Sabboth (Sunday/Saturday) is an ancient church tradition. I think it holds a lot of merrit regardless of your religious beliefs. While growing up, my family always had "Family Day" every Sunday. My brother and I weren't (...) (23 years ago, 9-Sep-01, to lugnet.loc.uk, lugnet.harrypotter, lugnet.castle)

(...) Actually, most stores in the Netherlands *still* don't open on Sunday, some because of statute--church attendance is down almost 75% from just 20 years ago, so it's not an anti-secular thing anymore. I hear Belgium's the same way, as is much (...) (23 years ago, 9-Sep-01, to lugnet.loc.uk, lugnet.harrypotter, lugnet.castle, lugnet.off-topic.debate)

One year anniversary coming up quick

Almost one year ago, a handful of people got together for a small meeting in a wee little town called DeWitt. That was on October 21, 2000. In about a month and a half we will be reaching that point again, and a one-year anniversary for MichLUG (...) (23 years ago, 10-Sep-01, to lugnet.org.us.michlug)

  First mask pack mini-story

We were at Wal-mart yesterday looking through the bare Lego section and we came upon a phenomenon I've heard others talking about, dozens of opened and half to fully empty mask packs :(.   Re: Hey! That's my town :-)

That's a really nice town you've got there.. I especially like the 'castley' part, the church, the CN-ish tower, the log cabin, the greenhouse, the city hall (?), and the power station at the foot of the dam. Any idea how many pieces are involved? (...) (23 years ago, 31-Aug-01, to lugnet.town)
