(...) We don't think that we are superior just we don't act like americans. (...) Good, it doesn't offend me, I don't like the way you "americans" are always super proud of being americans, born in america and or proud of being born on 4 of July (...) (...) And a _lot_ of people live in those places. For those people, that _is_ America. (...) No one should be calling anyone stupid here. And I don't think he meant that. I disagree with you about a great many things, but I don't think it's because (...) (25 years ago, 11-Jan-00, to lugnet.off-topic.debate)

Newbie needs advice on a pilgrimage...

Hello hello! After an extended dark age which involved having every lego I ever owned (most notably every castle set from 1989-1993) stolen, I am back in the swing of things, and happily asking the eternal question: Legos or food? But I digress. On (...) (24 years ago, 11-Jan-01, to lugnet.people.newbie)

  Re: Men vs. Women

I'm afraid I'm partially to blame. I added to the boy side of the equation by having a son. If I had a daughter, I would have helped correct the imbalance. :-) I know that sounds flippant, but it's mostly true. While my wife was pregnant, I walked (...) (...) You mean just on the other side of the Atlantic? :) Seriously, I see why it's much easier to do this sort of promotions in the U.S., lot's of fans in one country. (...) No. We know that most of _continental europe, the UK and North America_ are 4-8-1/2". However, there is a lot of narrow gauge stuff around, and a fair amount of broad gauge too.
