However, it is far less ambitious than I first planned.

Though it's footprint is smaller than the 48 stud base plate it sits on, it
still costs £17 a storey in bulk windows alone. With the bulk bricks as
well, its around £22 a story.

Now a 10 storey office block would look nice, but try saying £220 to
yourself for a pile of bricks!
Empire State? £2000+. Forget it!

Well the prices are a bit over the top especially when you compare the prices
to the 3033 Bulk Tub we can get in North America or other buckets.  Sure you
can get parts cheaper second hand but those chanels are not reliable.  The one
advantage to the bulk sales is a near endless supply, if you can afford it.

I will personally probably start buying up 3033 tubs because I have a feeling
they are going the way of the dinasour in the near future.  It would be nice if
LEGO offered discounts to those of us that would buy significant quantities of
bulk parts.

I also can't wait for the product selection to grow.  I really want 1x4x3
windows in a variety of colors along with the panes and shutters to go with
them.  (If LEGO must offer just one color of these windows please don't make it
Red).

So I stopped at 6 storey
I could have saved some money (or built it higher for the same cost)  by not
including all the sides, e.g. leave the back off. Might do this, though
would not work if it gets included in a larger town set up with buildings on
all sides.

Well for my town I do all 4 walls because I like to keep the setup modular but
I do save on windows because most of my buildings only have windows on the
front and back.
