  IC download problem

Having solved my memory power-supply problem, I've installed the rest of the Handy Board memory circuitry and gone on to put in the speaker and LCD screen (step 6.0.4 complete). Unfortunately, I can't seem to get Interactive C up and running! :( (...) (28 years ago, 17-Nov-96, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)

I'm stumped. In the process of assembling my first handyboard, I have just reached the stage where I install the memory (all previous checkpoints passed). I'm having a problem at stage 5.1 (memory power supply) of assembling my (first ever) Handy Board. The main and interface/charger boards have passed all tests up to this point. You need to get the CONFIG register to be set to 0x0c. If it is set to 0x0d, there will be memory conflicts. See the FAQ for an explanation. Try DL.EXE from the freeware DOS package.   Battery Care

Hi, What's the best way to care for the NiCd pack of the Handyboard? I understand that NiCd's undergo the "memory effect". Does this mean that you should always use your Handyboard untill the RED LED light comes on...and then recharge it? Is it OK (...) (28 years ago, 20-Nov-96, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)

1. Is there a way of expanding the 32K memory in the HB? How? 2. I want to reduce the weight of my project by changing the battery.   Re: HB Downloader Trouble

Success on the first bootstrap download and failure to write into RAM could easily be explained by a fault in the memory circuit. The memory circuit, which includes the 'hc373, the 'hc132, and the RAM chip itself, with about 27 signals going to the (...) (28 years ago, 13-Jan-97, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)

(...) any normal cmos low power 28-pin (JEDEC standard) 32K RAM will work.
