| NQC uses the firmware only to the extent that you need to be able to point to it for download. Choose Download Firmware to find out what file it wants to download (I think it's spirit.oxc), then copy that file from the CD to your hard drive for (...) (25 years ago, 29-Nov-99, to lugnet.robotics)

| The spirit.ocx[*] can be consider as a LEGO's official API for programming the RCX and CyberMaster. Still wondering why the RoboLab won't use the spirit.ocx. Howbout the RIS. | Has anyone thought of building a true OS (or replacement firmware) based on LegOS? As I understand it, LegOS isn't actually an OS at all, but rather is a source code library. | (...) Miguel, It depends on whether you want your programs to run on the RCX (case 1) or on the PC (case 2). Case 1: Try legOS. It uses gcc and a cross assembler to compile C directly to the RCX.
