NQC uses the firmware only to the extent that you need to be able to point
to it for download. Choose Download Firmware to find out what file it wants
to download (I think it's spirit.oxc), then copy that file from the CD to
your hard drive for easier re-download.
No such thing as a dumb question here--mild sarcasm is the worst I've ever
seen here in response to what would earn a lifetime of flames in other
newsgroups/mailing lists.
