The spirit.ocx[*] can be consider as a LEGO's official API for programming
the RCX and CyberMaster. Still wondering why the RoboLab won't use the
spirit.ocx.
Howbout the RIS. It compiles the visual statements and expressions to
byte-code and stores them to a file. This file is then downloaded to RCX.
Spirit.ocx however downloads directly after compilation. There seem to be
some functionality in spirit.ocx what LEGO has hidden. Why?
Will there be a new firmware release with the RIS 1.5?

[*] With Automation you can easily integrate the spirit.ocx with many
applications. For example you could build a robot to analyze and act based
on the data located in some spreadsheet or database. Or have a web interface
to control yours (or somebody else's) RCX in real-time.

as the LEGO Remote Control, although the same can be accomplished by other
means.
