| | Re: Robotics in Aussie
|
| I agree with Laurentino. I am very impressed with the Cybermaster. I was also originally worried that it had been trimmed down, but the more I experiment with it, I realise that the only loss is possibly the more advanced sensors. I now see the (...) (26 years ago, 11-Dec-98, to lugnet.robotics)

| (...) From what I understand you want to check out the new Programming Blocks, correct? But believe me that software its not worth the money it will cost you, especially since youre learning NQC now. I strongly advice you not to spend any time (...) | | Re: rcx unit
|
| You need a computer and either a serial or USB IR tower to download the firmware into the RCX unit before it will respond to the remote control. If all you want to do is drive the motor outputs, you don't need any programming. Also, it doesn't have (...) (21 years ago, 17-Nov-03, to lugnet.robotics)

| | RCX Bytecode compiler in Tcl
|
| Greetings, I had become quickly frustrated by the limitations of the Mindstorms programming environment. Fueled by the RCX bytecode knowlege provided by Kekoa, I have recently written an RCX program interpreter/compiler in Tcl, a freely available (...) (26 years ago, 24-Nov-98, to lugnet.robotics)

| | Re: Robolab, byte codes and assembler
|
| Thanks for the response. (...) It seems to me it's a design flaw in the entire method of counting rotations, which relies on the theoretical ideal of "instantaneous" voltage changes, which can't be produced. You can't go from 2V to 5V without (...) (21 years ago, 27-Nov-03, to lugnet.robotics.rcx.robolab)

| | Re: FLL not allowing NQC

| Having followed this very active thread with interest, there's several important points that seem to have been very lightly glossed over. The content of Robolab is changing and the FLL organizers will almost certainly have to deal with this issue. (...) (20 years ago, 12-Mar-05, to lugnet.robotics)

I wonder if it is actually loading the old firmware. I wonder.... Cheers, Ralph (...) (25 years ago, 29-Jan-00, to lugnet.robotics.rcx.pbforth)
