  [Java] TinyVM for Windows available

Hello everyone, There's now an edition of TinyVM that runs on Windows, and pressumably other platforms (its tools are pure Java). It was developed by a team led by Dr. Donald Doherty. What they have done is really cool. You can get TinyVM CPE from: (...) (24 years ago, 18-May-00, to lugnet.robotics.rcx.java, lugnet.robotics.rcx, lugnet.robotics)

  Re: Robotics in Aussie

I agree with Laurentino. I am very impressed with the Cybermaster. I was also originally worried that it had been trimmed down, but the more I experiment with it, I realise that the only loss is possibly the more advanced sensors. I now see the (...) (26 years ago, 11-Dec-98, to lugnet.robotics)

But believe me that software it’s not worth the money it will cost you, especially since you’re learning NQC now. I strongly advice you not to spend any time (...)   Re: rcx unit

You need a computer and either a serial or USB IR tower to download the firmware into the RCX unit before it will respond to the remote control. If all you want to do is drive the motor outputs, you don't need any programming. Also, it doesn't have (...) (21 years ago, 17-Nov-03, to lugnet.robotics)

  RCX Bytecode compiler in Tcl

Greetings, I had become quickly frustrated by the limitations of the Mindstorms programming environment.   BricxCC release 3.3.7.6

I've gone ahead and released a new version of BricxCC. Get it while it's hot! :-) There are a few rough edges in this release, primarily in the pbForth console. Also, the leJOS .hlp file was so large I did not include it in the main installer. The (...)   Re: Robolab, byte codes and assembler

Thanks for the response. (...) It seems to me it's a design flaw in the entire method of counting rotations, which relies on the theoretical ideal of "instantaneous" voltage changes, which can't be produced. Having followed this very active thread with interest, there's several important points that seem to have been very lightly glossed over.
