  Re: Moonbase Roads

(...) In real life, when undeveloped land is rezoned, the roads are planned first, and then the land is divided into lots. Then the land is sold and stuff is built. In real life, when buildings already exist in a location, the road is either moved, (...) (21 years ago, 2-Sep-03, to lugnet.space, FTX)

  Re: Droopy Star Destroyer

(...) I bought one when it came out and put it together right away. I took it apart a few days ago. I too had four bent grey beams, but not as bad as yours. But you can still see that they're warped. Some of the black ones are also bent ever so (...) (21 years ago, 2-Sep-03, to lugnet.starwars, FTX)

(...) Yes, since I started one for you: (URL) .NET to Linux (?)> The people at (URL) Ars Technica> are always very knowledgable. And if they don't know something, they do know where you can go to find answers. (21 years ago, 2-Sep-03, to lugnet.cad.dev, lugnet.off-topic.geek, FTX)

Re: quick write-up of our Roadshow weekend

(...) WHAT?!!!! I was just there two weeks ago and there was no Pick-a-Brick at all! I don't live anywhere near that mall, so going to the LEGO store at all is a huge big deal. I am now very unhappy. Thanks for ruining my day! >-@ (21 years ago, 2-Sep-03, to lugnet.trains, FTX)

  Re: source of <-O-> background

(...) I can make you one if you want. My scanner's broken, though, so I'll need someone to give me a scan of that logo up close. It's easier to trace the logo from a scan than to draw it freehand. (21 years ago, 4-Sep-03, to lugnet.trains)

  Re: Stacking Moonbases

(...) I think a drawing would help people visualize this better. Seriously, though, it would be easier for modules to connect if you have a single passageway running up and down in the middle of a baseplate. With four individual columns, you'd be (...)   Re: source of <-O-> background

(...) To clarify, I would have traced it as a vector graphic, so it can be scaled to any size needed. The pattern is rather simple and lends itself well to this anyway. Using LDraw might work. What parts use it, specifically? I know that some (...) (21 years ago, 5-Sep-03, to lugnet.trains)

  Re: Vision Command and Linux

(...) Do you think it would be helpful to have better lighting for the original (raw) image? That might create a better difference between the robot and the background. (21 years ago, 5-Sep-03, to lugnet.robotics)

  Re: Stacking Moonbases

(...) If you're going to get so complex as to build a lift, you might as well be making just a single moonbase that's very tall. Something like this one: (URL) After considering this some more, I'm thinking that having a vertical connection standard (...) (21 years ago, 5-Sep-03, to lugnet.space, FTX)

  Re: Brick Separator tutorial

(...) Ha! I knew that one! It's especially useful when you have a bunch of tiles grouped together and can't bend whatever's underneath them to pop them off. I like to put tiles between train tracks, for instance, when I'm creating road crossings or (...) (21 years ago, 10-Sep-03, to lugnet.build)

(...) that thing weighs 1984.16 lbs. Almost one ton of LEGO. :D Actually, there's a 120-kilo aluminium* body to hold it together, but still that means there's 780 kilos (1719.6 lbs) of plastic. *In American, that's "aluminum," and 264.55 lbs of it.   Re: New Star Wars (from FBTB)

I just want to say that I will be buying the new Millennium Falcon set, the new X-Wing, and the original Falcon, which I still haven't gotten. The reason is that the two new ones are redesigned sets, not re-released sets . . . that's not the same (...) (21 years ago, 12-Sep-03, to lugnet.starwars, FTX)

Re: Low level programming of the RCX

  Re: RCX Communications problems

What I would do is give each RCX an internal "name" -- an identifier. When you send a message from the PC, the first part is the identifier. So if robot B gets a message intended for robot A, it should ignore it. And vice versa. The same thing would (...) (21 years ago, 29-Sep-03, to lugnet.robotics.rcx.java)
