(...) How about Terra Brickus Leg Godt ? :) (...) (24 years ago, 23-Jan-00, to lugnet.castle)

Re: New mod to double decker passenger train

(...) lol It cuts *both* ways. As you said, micro management requires more cerebral action than building action. Building on a large scale requires cerebral action as well as creativity-on-the-build action. Both are creative processes. I was simply (...) (24 years ago, 23-Jan-00, to lugnet.trains)

  Re: WB store sale

(...) Not me, and I ordered on Monday too, but I haven't gotten mine yet either. 'Course, I got part of my KBKids order today. My guess is the rest of it didn't fit in the truck. :) Jeff (24 years ago, 23-Jan-00, to lugnet.market.shopping)

(...) I ditto that. I am look as well. Though my nephew get's priorty. (15th of Feb is my birthday too, so I think it would be a nice present to myself). (24 years ago, 23-Jan-00, to lugnet.market.buy-sell-trade)

Re: a name for "castle world"

How about a variation on Camelot--CameLUG?? What about a simple name taken from the address? If the site address is www.legocastles.org, the site name could be LegoCastles.org. Studland doesn't sound too good, because it may appear on search engines (...) (24 years ago, 23-Jan-00, to lugnet.castle)

Re: New mod to double decker passenger train

(...) My point seems to have been missed here. The smaller you build, the more creativity is required, because you are more constrained. Microfig scale is very very tough and requires extreme creativity because you really really need to know your (...) (24 years ago, 23-Jan-00, to lugnet.trains)

Re: Which recent sets contain yellow Classic 1x2x2 windows?

(...) Thanks to all who replied - I now know that I'll have to get the paintbrush out....ONLY JOKING! Although I have not located these windows in yellow, I did manage to pick up a 4162 (Freestyle) set on offer today, this has two blue 1x2x2 classic (...)   legOS for Windows Finished!

Ok, I lied. I am missing one essential component. I absolutely need a copy of DLL.EXE that runs under Windows. I could also use a compiled copy of the latest version FIRMDL.EXE (I only have version 1). So far my tests are very encouraging. After (...) (24 years ago, 22-Jan-00, to lugnet.robotics.rcx.legos)

Re: BRICKS going offline soon, probably for good

Thanks, Mike, for hosting this site. I cut my teeth on auctioning my stuff on BRICKS so I am sad to see it go. You are a valuable member to the AFOL community! It was fun while it lasted! -John (...) (24 years ago, 22-Jan-00, to lugnet.market.auction)

Re: The Challenge (was Re: Train Control)

(...) There was a thread here a while ago about modifying a motor to supply power to the aux connector that powers an RCX. The RCX powers the Motor. I've done just that. Here are some quick pics: (URL) (24 years ago, 22-Jan-00, to lugnet.trains)

Re: Who oversees the rec.toys.LEGO newsgroup?

(...) To answer the question in the Subject: nobody. rec.toys.lego is an unmoderated newsgroup, which means that you don't need to get your article approved before you can post there. J (24 years ago, 22-Jan-00, to lugnet.general)

  Re: Not really Lego-related, but...

(...) Of all the G&S operettas, I think _Pirates_ is my favorite. (The movie, with Kevin Kline as the Pirate King, is quite good as well.) Hmm...(starts pondering a minifig version of Major-General Stanley...maybe the Adventurer Professor head?) J (24 years ago, 22-Jan-00, to lugnet.pirates)

Re: New mod to double decker passenger train

(...) I had tried using the 1x2 hinge brick to get a slope effect on the streamlined boiler of my Hiawatha Loco but abandoned the idea for using the 2x2x3 extreme slope brick, but that is a different story. What I am suggesting is using this (...) (24 years ago, 22-Jan-00, to lugnet.trains)

  Re: multitasking

In my reading of it, it will just chew the cycles. Here is the routine msleep(), used to implement sleep. See how it just does a busy wait? I wrote a version (now gone into data heaven when my drive crashed) that would check the time, and then give (...) (24 years ago, 22-Jan-00, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)

  Re: FA:[eBay] - Lar's custom hopper

(...) Well, I got a few bids and since Paul Foster was one of the bidders, I put another one up. A tip of the hat to the Lugnetter who suggested I switch away from a black background on the POVRay image. He's right, it looks a lot better. (24 years ago, 22-Jan-00, to lugnet.market.auction)

  Re: WB store sale

(...) Nuts! I ordered mine Friday of last week, and it still hasn't arrived! I'm in California, so I wonder if that is the source of the delay. BTW, is your order info updated on your order page? Mine keeps showing "ordered sent to warehouse for (...) (24 years ago, 22-Jan-00, to lugnet.market.shopping)

Re: a name for "castle world"

I like the wink to Tolkien, but it seems to me that lego castles are a bit more Arthurian than Middle Earthy. What about "Bricktannia"? Or a variation on Camelot, something like "Camedot" or "Brickelot", but maybe something stupid sounding. Of (...) (24 years ago, 22-Jan-00, to lugnet.castle)
