Re: Thoughts on 8448 (compared to 8880)

(...) I had that same problem too - basically I decided to "sacrifice" my 8480 to make it bulk parts. Plus any small or mid-sized set (8440, etc) winds up as bulk. I can still build it if I want - in fact picking the parts from my sorted bins is a (...) (25 years ago, 7-Jan-00, to lugnet.technic)

(...) Well I'm interested but the sets don't cost $11. The small one is $9 from S@H (USD that is) and the 5805 is now $27.50. I think that I'd definitely agree to this for $1.5 each. (...) Ah. My "problem", then, is that I only buy interesting sets. :^) I truly admire Lego's design ingenuity, and I really like building sets like 8880, 8480, 8868, etc., just to admire their techniques. I guess I should start buying up some bulk (...) (25 years ago, 7-Jan-00, to lugnet.technic)

Take the bent beams and attach them to a motor. When the car is at the top, the motor turns the beams, and the beams push the car off the magnets.
