  Re: Parts library for LeoCAD

(...) I removed it to avoid confusion but it looks like people do not want to wait for the library updates. :) (...) I've never thought of doing that (I can't see a reason for it). The only parts that LeoCAD have that are not included in LDraw use (...) (25 years ago, 27-Nov-99, to lugnet.cad.leocad)

  Re: Parts library for LeoCAD

(...) Ok, something like that would be useful to have, I think. I would feel claustrophibic if I couldn't convert new parts into the LeoCAD format. How about the other way around? Can ordinary DAT files be extracted from the LeoCAD format? And can (...) (25 years ago, 27-Nov-99, to lugnet.cad.leocad)

  Re: Parts library for LeoCAD

(...) Because LeoCAD is (or should be) able to render pictures in realtime, so it uses some optimizations that would be too slow to do with standard LDraw files. It also stores some more information, like the position of the studs and the places (...) (25 years ago, 27-Nov-99, to lugnet.cad.leocad)

  Parts library for LeoCAD

If I'm not mistaken, LeoCAD uses a different parts format than LDraw. Why does it do this? Why not use the native LDraw parts library? (Excuse my ignorance if that applies.) Is it possible to convert LDraw part files to a format understood by (...) (25 years ago, 27-Nov-99, to lugnet.cad.leocad)

Re: Hardest Piece to remove? Final Answer

(...) I dunno. Personally, I've always had problems with the 1x1 joystick piece. If I pull the handle, it simply comes off, and the rounded top base has nothing to hold onto when pulling it off. Fredrik (25 years ago, 27-Nov-99, to lugnet.general)

Re: Best way to make parts images?

(...) I don't think I agree. The images produced by LDLITE or something similar contain much more information, as they include the edge-lines in the parts. I tried to use raytraced images for instructions once, but I quickly came to the conclusion (...) (25 years ago, 27-Nov-99, to lugnet.db.brictionary, lugnet.cad)

  Re: Transporting large setups.

(...) Yes, PNLTC uses flat/shaped tables for the majority of the layout, and transports everything separately. Mind you, our tables dont have 20 gazillion bricks making up the layout on each one... :) Some of the PNLTC tables are built up (...) (25 years ago, 27-Nov-99, to lugnet.trains)

Re: Review: " The Unofficial Guide to LEGO MindStorms Robots"

I also got the book (about a week ago) and the only problem is that almost everything there is understandable during first reading - that's not a good sign. I mean it could have gone into more details... however, it is very helpful book, covering (...) (25 years ago, 27-Nov-99, to lugnet.robotics)

  Re: Clone DATs--any interest?

Tim Courtney skrev i meddelandet <4.2.0.58.1999112701...mm.com>... (...) [And many has said many things in this thread...] I think you are all a bit over-reacting! Of course www.ldraw.org should _mainly_ cover the LEGO use of LDRAW, as that's what (...) (25 years ago, 27-Nov-99, to lugnet.cad.dev.org.ldraw, lugnet.off-topic.clone-brands, lugnet.cad.dev)

Re: Anyone using motors, etc. in Castle creations?

(...) <sniped bits> (...) Sure, why not. It can't hurt to ask, neh? Is there anyone out there willing to give me a plug-in transformer? I'll pay shipping costs, either as cash, or as credit in my next parts sale. Heck, if someone steps up to bat, (...) (25 years ago, 27-Nov-99, to lugnet.castle, lugnet.market.buy-sell-trade)

Re: Radio shack basic electronics book

Hello all, Unfortunately, that is not the norm. Most of the people you find working at RadioShack are just SALESpeople, who couldn't tell you what a resistor does! They just want to SELL it to you... Anyway, it helps when you live 10 miles away from (...) (25 years ago, 27-Nov-99, to lugnet.robotics)

  Adventurers construction ideas

Just thought I'd share some construction ideas I've been considering, to tie in with Adventurer lego... One is a 30's-era steam-driven train -- transportation seems to be a big part of the series, but it's definitely missing some kind of frontier (...) (25 years ago, 27-Nov-99, to lugnet.adventurers)

  Quarti!

Ridendo e scherzando e cazzarolando siamo arrivati quarti. E non e` del tutto improbabile che ci abbarbicoliamo anche i Canadesi che sono solo avanti di una ottantina di messaggi. Ciao. Marco. (25 years ago, 27-Nov-99, to lugnet.loc.it)

Io, per quanto mi riguarda, voto no. Che cacchio vogliono? Pubblicita`? Che ci paghino allora. Magari in pezzi (...) (25 years ago, 27-Nov-99, to lugnet.loc.it)

  Re: LEGO books for "FREE"

Bummer! I tried to order the ultimate lego book and lego island CD plus some stickers to make it over the $20 minimum but they don't do ground shipping to Hawaii (or Alaska).   Re: Clone DATs--any interest?

(...) Legal calamities aside, wouldn't it be cool if each clone or construction system could have its own subdomain of ldraw.org? (6 URLs) would solve all the issues perfectly. --Todd (25 years ago, 27-Nov-99, to lugnet.cad.dev.org.ldraw, lugnet.off-topic.clone-brands, lugnet.cad.dev)

  Re: Clone DATs--any interest?

(...) Yeah, it is a very tricky subject, and could easily go either way IMO. (...)
