  Re: Some disturbing news

(...) I wonder if a traditional company such as Lego would respect a traditional approach like petition-writing. You could easily get the signatures of a handfull of people on the same piece of paper, and the rest of us could send the organiser our (...) (25 years ago, 26-Oct-99, to lugnet.general)

  Re: Nautilus

(...) Alright I concede it is doubtful that it is impervious to shot. Still you must admit that it is a cool looking vessel and is highly worthy of lego modeling. And I bet you can't use one of those firing lego cannons to sink my model. Mark L (25 years ago, 26-Oct-99, to lugnet.adventurers)

  Re: Roarke's Drift (Zulu)

Re: Ideas for a court jester?

I think, if they made them, these pieces would have been in those under water boats sets (forget what that theme/sub-theme is called, but it has a lot of blue and red, and magnets, IIRC). -- Have fun!   Re: Some disturbing news

(...) I'm just tired. If they're killing service packs entirely I'd say chances of them ever doing any kind of bulk sales are nil. I almost bought a few of the Castle DACTA sets once, but I honestly couldn't see much in it that I truly wanted. (25 years ago, 26-Oct-99, to lugnet.general)

  Re: Idea: Boycott the falcon

Instead of Juniorized they could be cost cutting measures, one piece vs 5 or 6? Who knows....there are days I think we're (as in the older lego crowd, 20+) just thinking 'that's the way it was and we liked it' (Dana Carvey's Grumpy Old Man) when we (...) From: "Jim Choate" <ravage@einstein.ssz.com> (...) regular (...) This shouldn't affect mindstorms however, since it doesn't use any special devices (it just talks via the serial port). I haven't used the Mindstorms software in ages, so I can't (...) (25 years ago, 26-Oct-99, to lugnet.robotics)

  RIS 1.0 vs RIS 1.5

I went to a local CompUSA looking for a add-on for Sid Meir's Alpha Centauri and was wandering around. Lo and Behold, I find a children's section of software with all the Mindstorm Kits! Including the new RIS 1.5. I just got my RIS 1.0 for my (...) (25 years ago, 26-Oct-99, to lugnet.robotics)

Re: Ideas for a court jester?

(...) Nope. No red in the Adventurers. I'm theme-complete there, and I don't have any. (...) Doh. Yes, I have these in dk grey too. Blue? Neat. Do you recall where from? (25 years ago, 26-Oct-99, to lugnet.general, lugnet.castle)

  Re: Greatest Adventurer Movies

  Re: New Castle site

(...) You are right ... I will take some pictures of my "unique" figures and do a little table/writeup about them.   Re: More Mindfest Tidbits

(...) I'll pay shipping costs, no problem. I will also quite happily wait for overseas shipping. I think very few AFOLs will have any problem with a 'pay and wait' policy, because we're generally quite used to that in the second hand market. James (...) Ray, You could be on to something. That would explain why the European service pack catalog has like 3 times the number of service packs in it then our does.   Re: More Mindfest Tidbits

There seems to be a disparity between the costs of bricks in the bulk tubs and parts in general. Bricks in bulk tub vary around 1.5 - 2 cents each. In general set parts seem to cost 10 cents (or higher) per piece on average. <Speculation> Could it (...) (25 years ago, 26-Oct-99, to lugnet.general)
