I have two thoughts/speculations:
- Enfield only makes the highest volume parts. Below some production
level, it is more cost effective to make the parts at a different
factory and ship them to the other factories rather than each factory
making all the parts.
- Enfields production is at capacity, so there isn't extra production
for bulk orders (or even for the model builders).
And to mention it again, part of the lower cost per part of the tubs and
Freestyle/Classic sets is not having to recover as much for design and
production setup, and possibly also cheaper production because there are
fewer different parts.
