Ray Sanders <rsanders@gate.net> wrote in message news:37FB909F.81990A...ate.net... (...) I think that unlikely. What about the Jack-In-The-Box promo from a year or so ago? Huw (25 years ago, 7-Oct-99, to lugnet.promo)

Re: irvine scotland and gatwick airport

Mike Walsh <mike_walsh@mindspring.com> wrote in message news:FJ7qn4.80y@lugnet.com... (...) If you go into Crawley (5 miles down the road) you'll find 3 toy shops in the town centre: Beatties, Gamleys and Toy Stack. I don't expect you'll find (...) (25 years ago, 7-Oct-99, to lugnet.loc.uk)

Re: RCX Controlled Air Compressor Tester

(...) But do you reckon the seals are the same? They may use different material now... BTW, does anyone have any good uses for the old cylinders? They are pretty feeble when pulling (ie relying on "vacuum"), and seem (IMO) to be less well-built than (...) (25 years ago, 7-Oct-99, to lugnet.robotics)

Re: some good stuff on ebay

(...) Oh, eBay isn't that unappreciated...it's just certain people who use it to scam the less knowledgable. I've gotten a lot of good deals over eBay... J (25 years ago, 7-Oct-99, to lugnet.market.auction)

Re: RCX Controlled Air Compressor Tester

I have some of the original pneumatic cylinders with only one inlet. They have been used for various non Lego uses. While coming back from the dark ages, I have discovered that all three still work once they have been pumped once by had. They can (...) (25 years ago, 7-Oct-99, to lugnet.robotics)

  Re: 3055 set

(...) The 3055 was part of a promotion campaign in UK from Kellogg's Cornflakes in 1998. The campaign included the three sets 3054, 3055 and 3056. The 3055 should still be available from Kellogg's Cornflakes in UK until December 1999. Getting this (...) (25 years ago, 7-Oct-99, to lugnet.adventurers)

  Re: New angled beam

(...) Yeah, I was talking about the ones used in, say, 8446 and 8462. Even if I've never seen exact duplicates of those on real cars, I have seen things that are similar enough that I think they're fairly realistic. Fredrik Glöckner felt they were (...) (25 years ago, 7-Oct-99, to lugnet.technic)

  Re: New angled beam

(...) Sorry, I have no idea about that. While I have the 5571, I haven't even held a 8448 box in my hands. Hey, I haven't even _seen_ a box in a shop yet! BTW, while we are talking about the new Technic sets this year: I've noticed this really odd (...) (25 years ago, 7-Oct-99, to lugnet.technic)

  Re: IR proximity detectors

you won't be able to easily) get distance measures with standard IR comms parts (such as the IS1u60). light travels too fast for the time delay betw xmit and rcv to tell you anything. as a proximity sensor, all you get is a yes/no reading. if you (...)   Re: Surprising pricing

(...) These would be a reasonable purchase if the radio gear was small enough and removable, so you could incorporate it into, say, a radio controlled metroliner. Has anyone tried or considered this? Ian Bishop, Ayrshire, UK (25 years ago, 7-Oct-99, to lugnet.loc.uk)

Re: I've just overhauled my Lego Website.

Re: RTL posting stats (was Re: Lugnet Newsgroups Anniversary!)

  Re: New angled beam

(...) Fredrik, can you tell us which is larger by weight? Isn't the amount of ABS in a set a better indication of the cost and size of a set? <ICS> (25 years ago, 7-Oct-99, to lugnet.technic)
